This isn't the nicest or cheapest apartment complex in the neighborhood, but it's definitely the best value. Pros: LOCATION, super friendly staff, clean building, responsive maintenance, lots of updates in some units, amenities that make it feel like upscale living but without the luxury price tag (pool, sauna, rooftop deck, party room, enclosed courtyards, gym). Mostly quiet neighbors. Management seems to be committed to investing into this property. Free wifi by the pool/party area. Cons: The building is old. The trash is kept in a leaky garage so your car smells like wet garbage in the summer if you mistakenly leave a window cracked open. Parking in the lot can get tricky in the winter if you get home past 10 pm. Ground floor units prone to ants. 2nd and 3rd floors appear to have the occasional spider. Overall my experience with Lakewood is very positive. Very few things have broken while I've lived here, but when they have, I just drop by the front office to let someone know and they send one of the maintenance guys over within a day or so. I love that the staff go out of their way to remember my name and what unit I'm in. They're always insanely friendly when I go to pick up my packages. Sound isn't a major issue. The ceilings are pretty thin, so if you have a heavy footed upstairs neighbor, you will be aware of it, but I can never hear TV/Music/talking so it's never too annoying. The walls to either side of my apartment seem pretty thick. I rarely hear my neighbors from inside my apartment with the exception of when they have guests over, but that's almost always on weekends anyway so it never bothers me.
I moved in recently and haven't had any problems! My move in was very easy, I got to move in a few days early, they were super accommodating and gave me more than enough advice on cell phone service, the post office, etc. I have had 3 maintenance reqs since I have been here and each one is completed within 24 business hours, which is better than most places. The staff is extremely friendly, they remember my name and go out of their way to make the tenants feel valued. I recommend this place to any of my friends looking for a reasonable priced place to live with amenities. Great place to live!
I lived there for over 4 years and had a great experience. While the location is the best part, the staff provided excellent customer service and requests were dealt with very timely. They regularly went above and beyond what they technically needed to do. Also, the amenities are fantastic - the workout room was kept up as nicely as any gym you'd pay a membership for, the decorations/ design of the communal areas was good and modern, and the rooftop patio is a great place to read a book or suntan.
Rented here and everything seemed great at first. The apartment decided to put a corral around the garbage dumbsters. The corral fell apart one night and fell into my truck denting the door. The management group claimed they were not responsible. The first floor laundry room window in my building didnt lock which is a security issue. After a neighbor was broken into I asked if the management company would fix the window, thinking security would be high priority after the robbery. 10 months later it is still broken and I'm moving out. God's speed to anyone that tries renting with these morons
Great location, not crazy neighbors, the building is old but the staff is great
