Good location and was affordable. The rent increases were pretty steep year after year. The worst part is the distribution of charges for utilities. There is no incentive to save on usage. You basically subsidize other folks usage. Management team isn't very responsive to complaints and issues. The management team did try and organize a lot of events and that I agree doesn't happen in many other rental places. Overall my experience was satisfactory. The part that annoys me the most are the utility charges that get spread across all tenants.
I have very little bad to say about Shorewood. It's a pleasant community that actually strives to have things for people of all ages to enjoy. The apartments are spacious and in line with rent prices anywhere else. And the area is clean and kept up quite well. It loses one star for the fact that the walls are thin, but really it should only lose half a star since the people in those apartments are generally quiet. I mean, I heard my neighbor during the superbowl when he was happy, but that was the only time I have heard him - if once every decade I can hear someone cheering, then that is not that bad.
Worst place to live ever. I've lived here over a year unfortunately. There has been a non stop beeping going on for the last two nights. No one will do anything about it. I'm filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The staff is changed weekly. First 5 months my down stairs neighbors shook the walls 24/7. I complained and nothing changed. I finally took all I could and go ask them why they are so loud and see they had a kids basket ball hoop set up. This place is a joke. They should pay people to live in this dump. No parking, expensive rent, horrible customer service, and old building. DO NOT DO IT! LOOK AT ALL THE OTHER REVIEWS! DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID!
I'm surprised by the reviews, my experience both times living here has been positive (once via corporate housing and now as a regular tenant). Pros: Good location, quite, nightly garbage pickup, good neighbors, responsive staff (both office & maintenance). Cons: Parking can be a pain late at night or early morning (I have always found a space but might be walking a block to my apartment), the buildings are old so the layout is odd compared to newer apartments (e.g. the bathroom in my 1 bdr could be improved), the appliances are dated. Overall: I like this community, the cons I listed are insignificant to me since they are minor inconveniences. I would have given them 4.5 stars, since that's not an option I rounded up. :)
I absolutely love living at Shorewood Heights. This complex is very conveniently located to Seattle and Bellevue. It is well maintained and has beautiful grounds. I am very impressed with the individuals in the leasing office. I've had positive experiences with Sarah, Tucker, and Lisa. They have been very accommodating to my requests and have taken action to implement changes that have bettered my experience. It is a quiet and safe community that I could not find at several places in Bellevue. I would give my highest recommendation for living at Shorewood Heights without any reservation.
