Please stay away from this place if you are looking for a place that offers your peace and a relaxed environment. They have clearly cut cost building these apartments as you can hear everything your neighbor has to say/do. If you complain, the management assures you that they will do something about it or talk to the neighbor's but it never gets done. Even their own systems are down all the time so you cannot pay your rent on time and then they blame you for not paying the rent on time.
One of the worst apartment complex available in Raleigh. Every six month they change owners. There walls are paper thin and god help you if you are living under a tenant who has a small child. They do not take actions to any noise complaint. The only way to shut your neighbours up during midnight is to call the cops. I cannot wait till my lease is over!
This complex went from great to horrible. I have lived at Perry Point for 2 years now, but recently decided not to renew my lease. I had the greatest experience when I first moved here, but now it is the most unorganized, dangerous, and self-serving complex. The walls are pretty thin, but I have nice neighbors who all try to keep it down. I thought I lived in a safe area until I attended a neighborhood watch meeting, where I found that my neighbors' cars were being broken into, and apparently there was some guy walking around the complex holding a gun and looking for someone (not a cop). The main reason why I have decided to leave is because of the new management, Morguard. Residents were not given any notice of new management and their rules until the actual day it happened. Rent went from being due by the 5th to the 3rd, online rental payments were free, but now are assessed a $25 fee, and I have to show ID to pick up my packages (which lets me know that someone was stealing packages!). Just last month UPS delivered a package to the office, but management swore that they did not receive it. I lodged a complaint with UPS and the company that I purchased from. I went back in the office to pick up a different package and they gave me the "lost" one. Then said that the other package was labeled wrong to a different apt. Lies! Also, apparently there are too many kids, alcohol, and illegal activities at the pool because they keep shutting it down and sending threatening emails to warn all tenants about their guests. I just can't deal with this. I'm so glad my lease is up next month. This new management Morguard definitely is not a good company.
Unhelpful staff and cost cutting management. It is going downhill fast.
We lived at Perry Point for just shy of two years, and had an overall great experience. Noise: I think the walls are just a bit thin and poorly enough insulated for sound that you can often hear neighbors (above, below and adjacent). It's not a big deal most of the time, until it is--2 a.m. and a baby's crying, etc. I can't blame the staff, but wish the walls were a bit thicker. Grounds: The grounds overall are immaculate. The amenities are really top notch--the only problem we ever had was the grills being occasionally out of gas. Apart from that, my only gripe would be that the pool closes a bit early. Otherwise, the landscaping and aesthetics of the property are well-maintained and clean. Safety: I rarely felt unsafe at Perry Point--it's well-lit and generally low key. The only alarming things were the occasional car break-ins we'd hear about through management, etc. We always locked doors, etc. and never had a problem. Neighborhood: Although it's a bit far from downtown, there's plenty around Perry Point. Though it's mostly chains, any store or restaurant you'd need is within 5 minutes. Highlights nearby include Lafayette Village on Falls, the Target shopping center, and North Hills. Maintenance: We always had good experiences with maintenance. They were prompt, courteous, and fixed everything we asked. They'll even come to replace light bulbs, so it really is hassle-free. They were good with our pets and always locked the doors behind them. Staff: Most of the staff experiences we've had were great--Michelle, Shauntee, Kerry, and Spencer are all stellar. If we ever didn't get great service, we usually got it by going back to another staff member. We really did have a good experience. Overall, I think the prices are a bit high, but the apartments and the facilities are great. I'd avoid living on the highway side by 540, as it can be noisy. The rest of the community is quiet and great. The main reason we moved is because we decided to buy a home. Don't forget to bargain and ask about specials! The staff will often work with you.
