Started out great but got progressively worse! Parking sucks due to families having more than two cars per apartment which is obviously against the rules; however like most rules here, griffis does not enforce them. Recently had a big problem with tenants not cleaning up after their pets. Outdoor stairs are disgusting and never been cleaned. Gates are continuously being crashed into resulting in dents. Pigeons are all over the place due to having open dumpsters. They put all their money into their leasing office but none to upgrading our cheap/old appliances.
Been living here for 15 most first very "" luxurious ""but it's just the cover the stairs are always dirty never wash or clean in 15 months . Ur going to have big parking issues awful no parking control there's tenants that have 4-6 cars per unit n dont move there cars at all u can have ur guess park inside the building to save parking spots the gate been broken for months they cant fix it its always open Easy entrance to anyone manager don't have control they can't work on the problem. Only good the maintenance are good quick to fix the problem... I'm not renewing my lease here it sucks there's renting to all kind of people Wichita are bringing the 5star apartments to 1 star.
I would not rent here again. So first off I have lived here 3 years and it has progressively gotten worse. The front desk people are actually nice for the most part. The parking is a huge issue and the are now trying to enforce only one car per person on lease. Walls are very thin and people always banging on top floors and can hear it all! The biggest issue was that they are very military friendly they say, well i am getting and returning back home. They are charging me two months rent to break lease even with military orders so I don't believe that is military friendly. Last, the manager at the office is completely rude and very inconsiderate to my current lease and how to break it with military orders. The best thing about his place is the maintenance guys but that is all!! That is why i put 2 stars rather than 1.
Capital Hill Parking, Downtown Prices, East Colfax Customer Service. This is the worst place I have ever lived, and I have never been happier that my lease is almost up. And I have usually lived downtown in small, cheap, ghetto apartments under a slumlord, so that sums it up. I previously wrote a review here, and the property manager immediately called and threatened us, and then somehow got it taken down. First of all, there is absolutely no parking, and there is no where to park off sight either. If you do find somewhere to park off sight, you will be walking through a horrible neighborhood, so good luck with that. A 16-year old and her dog just got shot at the Target the next block over in a drug deal gone bad. And you know what the property manager's, brilliant solution to this obvious problem is? She hired a shady towing company, Majestic, to tow the resident's cars at Majestic's will. several times we have caught a "spotter" on our property. This is a person who lies in wait, and calls Majestic as soon as he spots an illegally parked car, and Majestic can have it towed in less than five minutes. He then gets an illegal, "under the table" kick back from the tow truck driver. They don't care if you park on the curb for five minutes to unpack you groceries, due to having to park a mile off sight, or if you accidentally forgot to replace your parking permit on your windshield, you will get towed. Also, Majestic will tell you that they take cash only, which has been illegal since Feb 2014. This is a predatory act to try an disenfranchise the poorer members, which Griffis Fitzsimmons has been made aware of, and the property manager's solution was that we should pay for a parking spot. They still have a contract with Majestic. If we need to pay for parking, we should be made aware of this before signing the lease. Our leases state that there is ample parking for each unit to park 2 cars--unpaid. It would be an extra $80 a month to park our cars, we are already paying downtown prices, which they just jacked up again. The light rail isn't even finished yet, and this is the ghetto part of Aurora. I only wonder how much of a kickback management gets from each tow. A better solution could be to make more spots, there's room. Or to open up some of the paid spots to free parking, but they only care about money. Not to mention when we first moved in, the entire guest wing of our apartment flooded because they didn't properly hookup the washer to the drain, or the ice maker water. So, for a week we had no access to my son's room, and they did not offer discounted rent or any thing. Also we went through 2 washers, because the first two were broken. The pool is dirty and disgusting, and the pool heater (they boast that they have a year round heated pool) was not turned on for our entire spring break. The hot tub has never worked correctly, the whole time I've lived here. It doesn't bubble when you turn it on. Also, they just renovated the club room and fitness center with touch screen TV's and mac computers that no one uses. Why not use that money to keep rents affordable, fix the hot tub, clean the pool, add more parking. Nope, they just want to be able to charge more rent for cosmetic upgrades. Also a drunk driver ran into the gate in the middle of the night, and tried to flee the scene, for which we now have to testify in court. Do they care? No. My boyfriend got called a "punk a$$ white boy" for no other reason than walking by some dude that was roaming around the inside, trying to start trouble. I was with my 7 year old son when this happened. All night long, you hear sirens. I don't feel safe here at all. I take a picture of my car every time I park just so I have evidence that it was parked legally. Also, I think any of these positive reviews in the last 3 months are phishy, I have never seen either of these people. And notice how they leave no comment.
great amenities, nice people working the front. Rent is a little high, but you get 24 hour gym service which is nice. The pool is open year round (and heated). unfortunately there are some extremely rude people that live above us, but what can you do, the courtesy patrol is handy. I would love to stay but the price is just too high for a single person.
