I have lived here for about a year. The manager, Brittany, is professional and quick to address any requests/needs. Maintenance requests are responded to quickly and the complex is kept very clean. The complex is very well lit in the evening. There have been no major incidences. I appreciate Brittany and her responsiveness to any concerns. It is a gated community and for the most part security is excellent. The only thing that could be different for me would be if the complex itself was in a different location. The benefit of the current location is it is near the Interstate.
one of the ghettoest apartments in Sacramento
The area driving into the apartements doesn't look the greatest-BUT, I have never had a problem. There is a police station down the street and I've never seen any "activity" from the surrounding apartments. I love the space inside the apartments, washer/dryers, huge closets, nice size kitchen. The staff has always been nice and I feel comfortable talking to everyone there. I had a 1 yr lease and then extended it to 2 years. It's clean and has so many ammenities that I'm very comfortable there!
Ashgrove place is great place to live. There a great deal of positives, with a few fairly minor negatives. First the positives. The management staff is great. They are on top of stuff and seem very organized. They take the time to know your name (and the complex is not small) and patiently listen to any concerns that you may have. In addition, they hold periodic residential get-togethers. Second, the apartments are nice and large. I am not sure how new they are, probably within the last five years. The appliances seem new too, and high quality. Third, they returned most of the security deposit. I always think that is a positive, it shows that they not about gauging former patrons. There are a few negatives. Despite being a gated community with security, my car was broken into twice and my $500 dollar GPS was stolen on one of those occasions. The immediately surrounding area is rather unflattering with a number of unruly individuals. A number of times I have seen these people trespass onto the property. It is not really anybody’s fault, just the realities of life. The community I live in now has an armed security guard, so hopefully that makes a difference. Two, given the neighborhood the rent prices seemed a little high. Ashgrove, however, has lowered its prices recently, to what I think are appropriate to the area, which is good.
