The apartment itself has good space and it had new paint and carpet. However, I realized when I first moved why they spray insecticide once a month!! German roaches are a problem here. I am super clean so they haven't gotten bad but they are still here. Also the neighbors are looking more like Section 8 residents and my husbands car has been broken into this last month..... We are not renewing because of this and the roaches.. There is a reason these apts. are so reasonably priced for the space offered folks.
The Service provided by the Grand Reserve for Repairs is like no other. They are very respectful and came to provide their service in a timely matter. They assessed the situation, found the solution and we're done within 2 hours.
Very tidy and hatred community
Today when I went down to my locked storage area (the one that requires a key and not just a padlock area)....I found that my barely used refrigerator was not in there. I am moving out this weekend and went to check on the item that I had put in storage when first moving in here last year. I went to report it to management immediately...and I was told "there's nothing we can do". I explained that the lock was NOT broken or tampered with and that my key worked fine...which means that someone who had access to the key got in there and took it. This was of NO CONCERN to the manager I dealt with. When I asked her if she wanted a copy of the police report given that something was STOLEN from their property---and she told me "sure you can do that if you want to". I understand that there can be break ins and items stolen anywhere you live, but this situation was obviously someone either within management or maintenance who could have access to a key...and that is extremely disturbing.
After living here for about 3 years, we should have first gotten the hint when there was a hostage situation in the complex the first week we moved in. On my way to work, I saw police scaling the wall, some posted up with shotguns and cars all over the place. When I asked the office in the morning, they lied and said "it was the development next door, this place is nice." Maintenance comes in whenever they please - they even came in while we were gone on vacation, after which some very expensive items went missing. After filing a report, the police officer told us that it was "common in this area." Not sure if he meant the area, or this specific complex - either way, we were convinced the maintenance did it, since there was no forced entry and would have known when units were empty for the holidays. More? How about a black mold issue that took over a month to fix? This completely shut down the master bedroom for at least 2 weeks, and the closet/bathroom for over a month. Despite this, management was unwilling to compensate for the situation, dragging their feet the whole way. Another nice feature, nobody curbs their dogs, at all. This may seem minor, but imagine never being able to step foot in the grass anywhere in the entire neighborhood without stepping right into a pile of dog crap. Walls are paper-thin, you can hear even the slightest argument from side and above neighbors, even from the units across the hall! Management actually admitted the units were built cheaply, and prone to all sorts of water damage and poor insulation. Worst of all, this was the most expensive place we've lived yet, and had the most headaches! The one pro: somewhat close to parks (if that matters) and lots of space. Clearly not worth it. Renter BEWARE!
