We hated these apartments, it was low and cheap but what I've learned since moving two and a half years ago is that sometimes paying more is in the end well worth it. My daughter and I had to duck for our lives every second we were there. Everything that these tenants said in previous statements is all TRUE! Rats, Roaches, No Air, Trash everywhere, Shootings every day and night. A true nightmare. I thank God we lived and all the rent I paid should be given back to us!!!!
My partner wanted to move from Marietta GA to Decatur GA, she found this low priced apartment and jumped at the opprotunitiy. My gf paid the application fee and deposit to hold an apartment for my gf(total 235). We were given a move in date of May 1st, 2014 and a walk through date of April 28, 2014 two days prior to move in. When we went for the walk through nothing was completed. Now fridge, dishwasher, stove, sinks, fixtures for the sink. The bathroom shower tiles were not grouted properly leaving a reside film over the entire tiled surface of the bathrrom. The toilet was literally sitting in the tub and the walls were not painted flawlessly. The patio area....if we can call it that was HORRIBLE. There was no grass at all, the ground is lietally turned up and a mud pit. The concrete slab (aka patio) was missing holes of concrete...and no privacy not even a bush, so anyone could come straight up and walk into the property! Now it is Monday May 5, 2014 and my gf is still getting the run around and things are not done. One lady in leasing is blaming the other lady for the confusion. WOW....GHETTO HOT MESS, if it is a business everyone should know what is going on. Then to make the whole story worse....the other leasing agent (Jamacian accent...actually Google the Youtube video "Kensington Manor Mold Problem" the lady at the front desk denying everything is the the person I am referring to...after watching that video you will definetly belive me) is a total moron. She had the nerve to tell me that she could not discuss information with me regarding the apartment because my name was not on the lease....I called and initally stated that I had a general question..."Does the move in process normally take this long and if it was common to give future residents false move in dates", after throwing her other co-worker under the bus, Ms. Ghetto tells me to fill out a application and attach 35 if I wanted information on the apartment. If she was intelligent, she would have understood what "I have a general question met"...I dont care if you are the only person in the office or not! That is no reason to be unprofessional in the work place. ***Beware they DO NOT have HARDWOOD FLOORS (laminate floor painted with a dark ghetto hot mess stain is more like it) ***Beware they try and up sell you to a renovated unit and promise you black appliances, to later tell you none was ordered and that it is corporates fault as they are putting dirty a** white USED ULTILTIES in your apratment. ***Beware of the whole renovation scam....first see where they started: flithy hallways, mold and mushrooms growing inside units, dirty and unfit for humans to live in. To me that does not spell renovation it spells fixing major problems so your business doesn't get shut down. I will be contacting corporate after typing the email....Right is Right and Wrong is Wrong!
These apartment should be shut down. The management and rent office is so unorganized and doesn't care about the residents at all. There are roaches everywhere no matter how much you spray for bugs. Also there are rats here. The hallways are a mess. They stink, are fitly, and have holes in all the walls. Half of every building is abandoned and have homeless people occupying the empty apartments. There are constant break-ins into homes and cars because people stand around outside all day and watch to see when you leave your house to break in. Yet the management refuses to hire security for the residents safety. Hot water is constantly off and not working. Management take up to 2 months to respond to your call to repair something in your home. These apartments are no where anyone would want to live.
It okay if, you stick to your self. I lot of people like to hang out in the parking lot.
PROS: Convenience of the Marta train/bus station is directly across the street. CONS: #1 GHETTO!! #2 CALL THE SO CALLED 24HR MAINTENANCE AND YOU GET VOICE MAIL. TRY TO LEAVE A MESSAGE VOICE MAIL IS FULL! THE WORKMANSHIP IS HORRIBLE! #3 YOU LIVE WITH ROACHES! #4 BAD WIRING! #5 WHEN IT RAINS THE CEILING FALLS. #6 SHOOTING EVERY OTHER DAY AND NIGHT! #7 FIGHTS EVERY OTHER DAY AND NIGHT! #8 KIDS WALKING AROUND THE NEIGHBORHOOD AFTER CURFEW HOURS. #9 GROUPS OF PEOPLE WALKING LATE AT NIGHT. #10 NOISE SOME DAYS BUT ALL NIGHT! #11 APT BREAK INS #12 CAR BREAK INS #13 THE POLICE STATION IS AROUND THE CORNER BUT THEY DRIVE IN AND OUT #14 THE PROPERTY MANAGER IS NEVER AVAILABLE! #15 THE LEASING AGENTS ARE RUDE AND A PAIN TO DEAL WITH. YOU MAY GET ONE THAT'S NICE BUT THE NICE ONES DON'T STAY LONG #16 ASK FOR THE CORPORATE NUMBER YOU WILL NEVER GET IT INSTEAD YOU GET A NUMBER TO A VOICE MAIL #17 DRUGS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD #18 DON'T SHUT THE BATHROOM DOOR TOO HARD THE MIRROR MIGHT FALL ON YOU. #19 YOU WOULD THINK LIVING ON THE TOP FLOOR WOULD BE SAFER BUT ADULTS AND GROWN KIDS ARE OUTSIDE YOUR DOOR WALKING THE HALLWAYS ALL NIGHT FIGHTING, CURSING, BEATING ON YOUR DOORS AND WALLS. #20 PEOPLE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD YOU DON'T KNOW WILL SIT ON YOUR CAR! WOULD YOU LIKE FOR ME TO CONTINUE OR IS TWENTY REASONS ENOUGH? I UNDERSTAND SOME MAY NOT HAVE A CHOICE BUT TO LIVE HERE DUE TO CERTAIN REASONS(I WAS THAT PERSON). JUST OUT WEIGH ALL OTHER OPTIONS WHICH I DID'NT AT THE TIME. SUGGESTIONS: IF YOU'RE DRIVING DON'T STOP OR DON'T EVEN DRIVE BY CAUSE YOU MIGHT GET SHOT, ROBBED OR BEAT UP. IF YOU'RE WALKING RUN!
