Great apartment complex. I'm very happy with these apartments. I am living with my girlfriend in a 1-bedroom apartment and couldn't be more satisfied. We are the couple that pays less for their living within our friend group and all of them agree that our apartment is the nicest. It was very clean when we moved in. It is spacious and cheap for the area. The area is safe and well within walking distance to UCR (around 15 minutes to the bell tower). All of the workers are extremely nice and helpful. All of the repairs that we have needed have been done in a very reasonable time. Pros: Within walking distance to UCR Spacious Economic rent Free social events with food Free maintenance Friendly workers Water paid by office Office will pick-up your courier mail Swimming pool BBQ area Spanish speaking workers Walk-in cupboard Cons: You have to pay extra for a parking spot Not very well insulated (probably inherent to SoCal) Windowless bathroom No fridge, microwave or any kind of furniture (only stove and oven were in the apartment when we moved in)
I am confused. Summer Meadows certainly seems a nice enough place. The rent is affordable and the area and facilities are said to be nice, of course, I never got to see them. I found Summer Meadows online, and when I called the staff was very nice, very polite. We spoke about what I was looking for, prices, space, etc. A two bedroom apartment with decent square footage, and a complex that provided prompt service and maintenance to its tenants. Summer Meadows had these things and so we scheduled an appointment. I was invited to Summer Meadows on a weekday morning, greeted warmly upon arrival, and was promptly told there was 'No available space' that met my criteria. Not only no available space, but no current leases even *close* to expiring. ...what? I'm still roughly new to the entire 'Apartment Hunting' game, but this easily seems like something I could have been told over the phone after the Q&A session. I wasn't even allowed to see any of the grounds as they would not be renting to me at this time. I scheduled a five-minute appointment so I could be personally told to leave, essentially. What was the point of this? After all the great reviews this place had I expected something...I dont know...'more?', as I was coming in, but perhaps that was my mistake. I rescheduled my entire day for that appointment and it goes without saying I am no longer impressed, nor interested.
Price is too high and they don't take work orders too seriously. When I was here, I saw a lot of cars broken into but they did not install a gated parking structure like the others. The manager is super nice, but it seems like it is too much to handle at times so I don't blame one person. If you are willing to share a room then it is affordable, but otherwise I would not do it.
Apartments are spacious and comfortable. Complex is quiet and great for both students and families. The apartments are safe and clean. Maintenance is convienent and quick. Way better than campus housing. It's cheaper and way better service! ~Jane Edwards
This is a great place to live. I’ve only lived here for a year but definitely plan on renewing my lease. The management is friendly and maintenance is always on top of things. Plus, it is extremely convenient for UCR students, as campus is walking distance, and there is a trolley that comes around right near the apartment complex as well. The rent is very affordable as well. Plus, finding parking isn’t an issue either. This is the best apartment complex that I have lived in so far :-)
