Just recently Cantera apts was having a new coat of asphalt throughout the apts. They did it by sections but they only gave a 12 hour notice for people to move their cars by 6am or they would charge you $75 and tow your car. I saw about 5 cars that got towed in my section alone. Terrible management to not give a 24 hour notice to their "valued" residents. The office staff is also very unfriendly, the office manager Justin always seems unhappy to help people when they come into his office.
Some reasons you may want to think twice about renting here. This relates mainly to our apartment. Our bedroom outer wall has the area lighting box attached to it so you’d get quite a bit of electrical noise during the evening and nigh until 7-7:30am when the lights go off. This was reported to management and dismissed. Bedroom windows are paper-thin (forget double glass) and we just next to the 202. The best part is the upstairs neighbor. Her apartment’s floor is totally wrecked and even a normal walk causes it to squeak pretty badly. Since that isn’t enough she enjoys jumping, stomping and running on it and most of the times, yes even at night, whilst throwing something around. Tip of the iceberg after throwing her dog’s hair (see pictures) and reporting this to the management nothing happened. They just swept the balcony and everything went back to normal. Nonetheless, we now wake up at night because of sudden noises of things falling heavily on the floor, jumping and moving furnitures. Everything had been reported to the management and we’ll end up having to leave at the end of our lease since this situation is unbearable. Haven’t had a full night sleep in weeks now. The business center is equipped with obsolete computers, no wonder everything looks so nice around since no one can use it. Nothing is luxury inside our apartment or in the gym and pool, yet prices are to the level of other much better equipped luxury apartment buildings. Maintenance is the only pretty good thing so far; they’re quick and helpful. I wish I read more reviews around and we hadn’t signed a 12 months lease on apt 1048 when first moving in. Do your research before moving in and see the apartment.
Let me start by saying it is not a horrible place to live. Unfortunately there are some downsides. They have people working in the office, making leases, that do not know what they are doing. The girls that moved me in made me pay the wrong amount, so now I have to pay $60 more a month than I had planned for the last three months of my lease. I only found this out because they posted a note on my door telling me I owe them $9, and when I went to ask why they had to go through all my records and calculate everything, which ended with them telling me about the $60. There has been at least five times when I have went to get in the shower or do the dishes, and have had no water. They seem to have a lot of issues with the property and don't bother to inform any of the tenants unless you call to ask why you have no water, and even then sometimes they have no idea what is going on or how long it will take to fix. They really just need to put people in the office that know what they are doing, and have better communication with the tenants.
Been here with my two children for about 1.5yrs now and kids are really comf. here so am I, I must say.... :) every place has pros and cons. but like this apt. place more than many ive lived in. :) Pros: Great loc. close to shopping and I-10. Great office Staff nice, smiling and helpful! like gated community, and most my neighbors are nice; friendly and quiet. Cons. mostly is from residents or visitors. marking up or tearing down sidewalk/walkway lightings, leaving trash/debris around. and I'll also unfort. add is the pools need to be cleaned more and jaccuzi working better and more chairs to sit/lounge on around pool area. Otherwise the apts are nice sized for pricing. and we have now signed @ leases. maybe a 3rd. :) Come on in and chk out Cantera. I may look into an apt w/wash/dryer as well for like 50. more/mo. not too bad... and way more convenient.... but i'll have to see dont like to relocate my children and belongings too.... much :) Alright everyone Happy Holidays wishes to all :)
The apartments look nothing like the models. Nasty carpet, horrible paint, outdated appliances. Do not sign a lease unless you see YOUR apartment.
