I have live at Chesapeake Commons for almost 6 years. Living in such a huge complex has its plus side. Chesapeake is a community all by itself. You can walk around and get your cardio without leaving the property! An awesome fitness room that provides tenants with privacy to workout when you wish. The staff has always been professional and repairs have been made in a timely manner. I have read some of the reviews and it just isn't fair to judge the entire complex by some past tenants experiences. I can't imagine trying to maintain such a huge property. Trying to keep everyone happy is near impossible! I have lived in smaller complexes that weren't handled as well as Chesapeake. I personally have never had a situation where I could not talk to management if I had a question. Sylvia Gamboa, our current property manager and her staff have turned this complex into a place I'm proud to call home. There will always be people who are unhappy about something and I simply want to say that we are the best complex in Rancho Cordova and I am happy to live here. When people complain about something I simply say what are "you" doing to make the situation better? I feel safe and the grounds are clean and well maintained. With so many people from so many diverse backgrounds Chesapeake Commons is makes it work!!
DONT RENT HERE! DONT RENT HERE! DONT RENT HERE! DONT RENT HERE! ROACHES ROACHES ROACHES ROACHES ROACHES ROACHES ROACHES MOLD BLACK WIDOWS DEFERRED MAINTENANCE CONSTANT WATER SHUT OFF NOTICES SINCE DECEMBER 26, 2016 MANAGEMENT AND STAFF ARE IN VIOLATION OF HEALTH & SAFETY CODES, DEPARTMENT OF REAL ESTATE, GENERAL CODE, & DISCRIMINATE AGAINST PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES. CONSTANT HARASSMENT and EFFORTS MADE IN RETALIATION FOR REPORTING VIOLATIONS TO RANCHO CORDOVA CODE ENFORCEMENT. Manager Sylvia Gamboa and staff under direction of general manager Dave Tanfaran are severely lacking in any ethics or morals related to landlord responsibilities as sited in CA Law. If you have maintenance issues they get pissed off at you for creating work for them. They begin retaliation and start harassing you. Leaving 3 day notices for any reason at all, threaten to tow your vehicle, pull your rent late and then charge you late fees, charge you $50/month rent for a washer and dryer that are so small you cant wash blankets in them. $15/month for a carport space where you have water puddles to avoid, over flowing trash enclosures, car was broken into twice and items stolen, dog crap all over, the pool and spa have been closed for 5 months, they don't honor their word at all! They refused to honor the gift certificate I won at their BBQ for a carpet cleaning. They told me I could use it at any time when I won it. Then when I tried to use it they told me it was no longer valid. Said I had to use it within 30 days of winning it but I won it the 1st day I moved in so I didn't need it then. NEVER said this anywhere on the gift certificate. Then they threatened to evict me when I argued with them that they had to honor it I had it in writing. Washer flooded but took them forever to replace it and tried to place the new one before I finished cleaning out the debris and drying the water from the walls. Then they bent the drain pan when installing the new one. The list goes on and on. My advice is to simply rent elsewhere and save yourself the hassle and headache.
The amenities, that work are great. The number of outdoor amenities are good as well. However the business practices are that of 19th century slumlords. Threatening you with 3 day pay or quits when you are a day late on rent. The maintenance crew, shows that you dont need to know how to fix anything to be an apartment maintenace person. I had to call 3 times for one issue each time they tried to skate by doing the least amount of work possible to fix the issue. They are probably going to retaliate by charging me for something erroneous by writing this review but the truth must be heard, I wont be renewing my lease. And I would advise you look elsewhere for your apartment needs
Nothing good about these apartments. They charge for parking, water and sewer are seperate charges, parking is terrible (not assigned close to apartment) the staff don't care about issues with anything. No microwave in apartment, or shower doors. The models they show you are nice but, what you get is completely different. I had a banking error with a bounced check and was forced to pay with money orders for 6 months. Verry cold and inflexible staff. Save some headache and stay away!
Worst Renting Experience Ever. Only Stayed for 4 Months. Carpet was new when moved in and i cleaned myself. apparently in 4 months the carpet was so bad it cost 400 to clean it. BS... Rude service upon moving out gave me 4 days to pay and because my mail where i moved to was slow i got sent to collections. thanks Chesapeake for screwing my credit. This Place is shady. Also While living there my infant son started to get sick. checked to see if there was a hepa filter installed in hearer/ac unit as i was told it was and i was charged for. No Filter present in the apartment at all just mold stains and dust. Also found mold in walls in both bathrooms. Stay away if you love your family.
