This place is the WORST apartment to live at. Since living here there have been two shootings. An abundant amount of drug deals all day long! Oh and did I mention this place is BED BUG INFESTED, oh and they won't pay for an exterminator no that comes out of your pocket. Very nice on the inside but after a few weeks you'll notice those bed bugs, drug deals, fights happening outside of your door, the loud explicit music blasting from cars, and let's not forget the Police officers paying a visit every week. And omg let's not forget the maintence people making an entrance without calling you to tell you they are going to enter. Last but least THIS PLACE IS NOT SAFE!!!
To those of you that have moved in these apartments during the winter, you have made a mistake, the summer months at the Moors are drastically different. My short stint in The Moors revealed plenty of these reviews below mine to be very false. One such incident happened Sept 11, when a shooting occurred, and again in Oct 2015 when a second occurred with an injury. A young man was shot in the shoulder in a drive by shooting, with staff quoted saying it was, "Not a big deal," and Wrong Place Wrong Time." This shooting in October made news on 10tv in case I have any doubters. Simply search for October 28, 2015, Two Teens Shot at in Southeast Columbus. Back in January 28, 2012 there was another shooting after a call to Columbus PD about a man with a knife outside a woman's apartment, search for Shooting at the Moors Apartment Community. And further back, there was a woman named Lisa Holliman (may her soul rest) found in her apartment slain after an armed robbery. Not to mention residents told me of another shooting in 2014 after someone followed someone home from the club and did a drive by. Also multiple car thefts, and break ins not only to vehicles but apartments too. If you think the slightly nicer town homes in the front of the complex are immune to these incidents, be warned they are not. There was at least one break in, and one car stolen from the town homes. If you stay up late enough and bird watch, you'll notice traffic is really heavy, and most cars frequent certain apartments for only a few minutes at a time, most of the time playing music loud enough to shake windows. Drug deals are prevalent and people often park and do drugs. People are often caught doing heroin and smoking pot in the parking lots due to next to no maintenance done to the street lamps, of which only about 50% percent work. Kids run unsupervised throughout the apartments at all times, anywhere from the age of 2 to 12, running through traffic and sitting in parking lots. The same kids often mark on siding and other structures with sharpies, often writing obscenities and drawing inappropriate pictures. Cars and windows have been egged, or scratched up, and glass is left around from kids busting light bulbs and drinking glasses for weeks at a time. People constantly throw trash next to empty dumpsters only to get torn up by unleashed and unsupervised animals. Not to mention the dog feces no one ever picks up. People are very easy to start fights in the area, and often hang out in stair wells and hallways at all times of night smoking pot, and being loud. there have even been times I have heard people threatening people over their phones, saying "I don't care if I go back to prison, I am going to get my s*** or you'll get what's coming to you." I have even received a phone call from my wife in the middle of the day while taking the dogs out about a person who pulled all the way into the grass behind our apartment and started yelling at her to come over, making crude comments and getting loud and angry when she quickly walked away. In the end, this place is not a safe place for anyone, or a family. The entire area is going downhill. Even the Kroger across the street installed an electric security system for shopping carts, to lock the wheels when they go a certain distance away from the store. Gas stations constantly get robbed, and even play obscene rap music in their stores during the day. DO NOT move your family here!!!! I do not write this out of spite, but to save other families the pain and stress I have endured during my stay at the Moors.
ANYBODY PLANNING ON MOVING HERE DONT!!! I REPEAT DONT!! APARTMENTS ARE FILTHY BUT NO WHERE NEAR AS FILTHY AS THE OFFICIE WORKERS. I lived here for 6 months and I ended my lease early. AND WHEN I MOVED OUT I HAD A HOLE IN MY DOOR AND THE OFFICE/ MAINTENECE CHARGED ME $1700 for a new door. And I told them I'd purchase a new door but they turned it over to debt collectors the next day so I couldn't get a new wooden for $125 so I had to pay them $1700 for a wooden door. They don't care about their renters they just want to make some $ of you over charging you for some 1985 home appliances. FOUL BUSINESS THE MOORS ARE RUNNING
I lived here almost close to a year and I loved it here I never had any problems, quit area. Office staff was always nice to me as well as the property manager. Rent price is fair, maintenance was OK I really didn't have to many problems with my apartment. I would recommend this apartment complex. Nice place to live :)
I love my friends here and the office is nice, but the apartment is terrible. I have bugs getting through my window and I think its mold on my window. The bathroom door doesn't lock , my mom door is broken off the hinges. The worse part is we have MICE!!!!!!!!!!
