The apartments are very nice. Theyre spacious and I always feel safe here. However, it is not worth the price. The utilities are set up by building and divided by the square footage of your apartment and the amount of people you have living there. Ours have been capped at $175. Your water bill is not only made out of what your building uses, but when they drain the pool and refill it, the laundry facilities, and the sprinklers that they run even when it's October and raining. I've had some concerns and tried talking to the staff very politely, just asking general questions and the older lady that works in the office, every time has been extremely rude and unhelpful. She has one of the worst customer service skills I have ever experienced. I suggest really reading into the fine print and ask a lot of questions before you sign the lease. I also recommend if these are apartments are at the top of your price range, do not decide on them because the utility prices really screw you over. Other than that, they are nice apartments.
We tried to hold off writing this review but WE HAVE HAD IT! Wish I could give a 0 star. We drove over 1300 miles to Colorado none military to get treated like bad tenants. Rent is due by the third but due to our family work schedule we purchased the money order when we got off on 8/4 and turned it in on 8/5 to get a notice on our door saying we owe 64 dollars and 31 cents due to being late. 8/6. This is where the problem comes in to US as hard working human beings. We called maintenance a week ago about our dish disposal and no one has came out yet! With 24hr maintenance. WHAT did they think that it will start working on it's own again? Its smelling the kitchen. Not only that we are living in a inhabitable place where our HOT water come on when it wants to this has been a complaint for 6 months August 16th. Due to the tenant law we shouldn't have to pay anything for living in these horrible conditions I would have lived with it better if they said we would move you guys into an apartment when one come. Available until this problem gets fixed but they keep pushing it up under the rug and now I'm going to write the Better Business Bureau and call the Health Department. This is ridiculous!!! We pay over a thousand dollars a month to live here to not have hot water at 6 a.m. on July the 26 our hot water did not come on until 11 a.m.! They know rent is due so this weekend we had hot water it was the 1st. AS a woman you know this can be bad. We are fed up this is my last cry for help we are not millionaires and we can't just up and move we want to make our credit better and we can't break a lease what are we supposed to do? Now we've decided to write a review someone has to hear my cry for help... How would these people feel if they got up in the middle of the night to use the restroom where they pay over $1000 in rent and can't even use hot water to wash your hands an no washer and dryer in units. We cannot wait until our lease is up we are gone. We have been to nice. Due to renting from Colorado the Landlord’s Duty to Provide a Habitable Premise (C.R.S. 38-12-505) states we should have hot water at ALL times and they are supposed to fix that. This has been a continuous problem We're so afraid for what going to happen our when our 1st winter approachs.
Pricing is fair, the grounds and exterior are well maintained, maintenance comes quickly, and management has been very helpful and friendly with all requests and lease renewals. THe pool is way too tiny considering it was upgraded but clean and parking for more than one car is a struggle. However, I would definitely recommend based on my experience!
Canyon Ranch was a great home for me and my wife! As far as amenities, they are fairly standard for apartments. The layouts standard as well (although we enjoyed having the breakfast bar - great for entertaining.) The difference is in the staff! Jeremy was a down-to-earth Manager when issues arose and Debbie was a sweetheart when it came to more normal issues. They were insightful during the move-in and move-out process as well. I was even pleased with the neighbors! I would recommend this place to my friends and family!
My husband and I signed a 1 yr lease on this place, and there is NO way we're sticking around. Our lease is up in a couple of months and I honestly couldn't be happier. Now, the office staff is friendly, but the company they work (Weidner) for is manipulative and will take any dime from you they can get. You can't be more than 10 days late with rent, or you will be served for court and will be forced to pay attorney's fees (upwards of 250$), if you can't pay your rent near the 20th, it's eviction on spot. If you want to move out a WEEK early, you will be forced to pay the retail rate of the apartment (ours went from 775 to 820 - watch for the prices to rise when you resign a lease) and we were signed in on a deal, and if we decided to move out a week early, we would have to pay the difference from the deal we got (That's an extra 375 at LEAST) Every day you're late on utilities, they charge 10 dollars extra... not to mention the RIDICULOUS utility prices... we were told 120$ max in the winter. Our cheapest bill was 110... and that month was a BLESSING.. this month we're paying upwards of 140$. If you decide to rent here, I'm sorry. Just make sure you read ALL THE FINE PRINT on your lease.. because these people will ROYALLY screw you. I can't wait to find out what they will try to charge us for after we move out. (Also, I can't forget to mention the "create your own parking" in this complex. People park literally WHEREVER they please. Even Illegally in front of the fire hydrant, and the office doesn't do diddly about it. Not to mention the fact that they JUST NOW hired on a security company who came around for about a week and I haven't seen since, because we had people scoping out our cars and breaking into them in the middle of the night. We asked for cameras... they gave us a nonexistent security program. I understand some people like the price... but the area is going ghetto, people getting shot left and right (look it up i'm not exaggerating) I have a baby, and I refuse to subject him to this area and these people. Aaaaaaaand, that's about it.. I think.
