Parking can be a nightmare if you don't live by the road. To guarantee a spot closer to your place, you have to pay extra for a covered spot or a garage. Also if you live near the road, the children that take the bus are really noisy and obnoxious. If you don't work during the week, don't even think about sleeping in. It's hard to sleep with kids screaming outside. Speaking of children, my boyfriend almost ran over one. He was not at fault. The kids walk on the roads and play around the entrances a lot. There are some really bad blind spots near the entrance signs. When the weather is good, you have to be careful. The apartment I was in had poorly placed windows and very poor natural lighting as a result. Light from the enclosed deck was only indirect light that was bounced off from the other apartments. I couldn't grow much from my deck. Also, my upstairs neighbor would water their plants and my deck would get muddy. On a positive note, I barely heard my neighbors next to me, but I could hear the ones upstairs late at night. I'm pretty sure they worked the night shift. Everyone around me was pretty nice. My problem was with the apartments that blocked my light. There was more than one place that didn't get rid of their Christmas trees and they let them sit on their porch till the hot months. I told management and they said that they had notified the tenants. It's crazy that they didn't crack down on it sooner because they require you to have rental insurance before you can stay. People with dogs will illegally allow their pooches to wander around without a leash. I almost ran over someone's dog because it chased my motorcycle. There is a very small fenced in area for dogs, but it's right next to one of the two garbage areas. There aren't enough garbage compactors and they often get so full that people leave their bags next to it. Who thought this was a good idea? People haven't been cleaning up after their dogs. As a result, children who play in the grass may step in poop. Some neighbors have set up cameras facing these grassy areas to try to catch the perps. The road that leads to the apartments is riddled with tons of deep pot holes that keep on getting worse because heavy commercial trucks drive down the road. The place that I was in was renovated. I didn't have much break on me. When things did, it was easy to get a hold of the maintenance company and they usually showed up the same day I reported it during the week. If it was an emergency fix, they would show up that day even on the weekend. When I moved, I gave one of the staff my new address. It turns out it was never put in the computer. After almost a month went by, I contacted them. It turns out they sent it to the old address. I'm not sure why they didn't call me. They have my phone number. The Pointe charged me a $42 application fee, $200 application deposit/holding fee, $200 security deposit, $200 pet fee, and a $200 pet deposit on top of rent, and pet rent. Utilities are not included in the rent. When I left, they started charging for mandatory garbage container pick up in front of people's doors. I deep cleaned the house with my brother when my back was hurt. So I was really mad to find out that they charged me a cleaning fee. They told me that they do that no matter what and that it was in the contract. I never saw it in the contract. Needless to say I was pissed. No one has time to waste deep cleaning for nothing. They also charged me for steam cleaning and pet pee enzymes. My cat never peed on the carpet. Just because the carpet was a little dirty, does not mean that there is pee on the carpet. The maintenance guy that did the walk through with me was so happy that my place was spotless and nothing was broken. It took him less than 5 minutes to do a walk through. Why the hell was I charged for all this shit? Out of $400 of refundable fees, I got back less than $100. This was one of the worst places I've lived in.
I lived in these apartments last year and I really liked it. I didn't have problems at all with the management or anything until they end when they charge us a butt load with things not being "clean" (which I deep cleaned the whole place.) I had moved out for about 3 months while finding a new roommate and when I moved back in the whole place was under new management. They are very nice people but things have become a lot less simple. Prices of everything went up, not just the apartments themselves. Parking is first come first serve unless you want to pay more for an under cover spot. With maintenance I use to be able to just call to the office and let them know what needed to be fixed (sadly things break all the time!) Now I have to put in a work order and hope they have time to come and fix things as soon as possible. Both apartments I had trouble with the sliding glass door, garbage disposal, closet doors, mold, washer and dryer closet door, front door-door knob, etc. Yes that all is a lot but I could deal with it other than the no parking space.
i always hear the neighbors upstairs whacking at the old bull. and it sounds like like they are constantly rearranging in the middle of the night. the dogs next door are always howling and whining. as a tax payer i would like to request a new company to own this complex
Would never live here again. Mold issues that never got resolved and maintenance issues that never got taken care of. False information on move in that is now a problem. Old and falling apart, cabinet doors falling off hinges and drawers not on tracks in the kitchen. All cabinets are pealing and in disrepair. The doors leak and the carpet is being discolored from it, response was that there is nothing to be done about it. Poor responses and a sense of lack of caring from most of the staff.
*Terrible management * Mold that won't qo away * Non-functioning appliances I would not recommend this complex. I lived here for a year, the only positive quality is that my neighbors were polite and mostly quiet. Bait and switch, I signed the lease for one apartment and ended up with another. The apartment I ended up with was still dirty. All of the counters had cracks or paint splatter, toothpaste left in the bathroom, and the oven was filthy. I had to clean before I could move in! I was constantly having my dishwasher, dryer and washer "fixed". It was a year long battle with mold, broken appliances and terrible management. Upon moving out I provided a notice 1 1/2 months prior to moving with my last month check. After spending three days deep cleaning the apartment, I get hit with a bill to replace the carpets and another for rent!! So frustrating! Moral of the story this complex is a waste of your time.
