Lived here for about 5 months now and so far its great. Perfect location for the downtown commutter, right next to bus line and 15th ave. Nice clean updated unit, solidly built. Very pet friendly, seems that atleast 80% of the community are dog owners. Anytime I've had maintence issues they have responded quickly and been fixed that day which is a nice suprise. There is traffic noise off of 15th which is a downside but not to the fault of management, also the shared WSG is a rip off, other than that we're loving it.
a beautiful location with very friendly staff. Underground parking is a nice bonus.
The reviews are true. I have been hear for 6m and I can't wait until my lease is up. We got in on a "Great deal" but what will happen is they will jack the rent up at the end of the lease. the Utility (Water & Trash) are "Shared". So if Joe next door take a 3 hour shower everyone pays for it. Run don't walk away from this place. Disliked: - This is a "Smoking" property because there is not a "Smoking" Policy. - 1st Floor there is a lot of people smoking weed. Mgnt does not seem to care. - Smoke seeps into your apt from the W/D. - Can't keep the windows open due to someone smoking outside. - The office never picks up the phone or calls people back. - Utility bill is never the same. The office is unable to explain why the price goes up every month. - W/D are stacked and you can only put in 2-3 towels before it's filled. - Bathroom fan is on 24/7 and there is no way to turn it off. - Unprofessional signs - Can't put much on your deck if you have one. - No AC units allowed Plus - Maintenance is great. All the guys are very helpful. I never put much into reviews I have seen but now I will.
So, if you happen to be on the western most part of this complex...good luck sleeping. We live in a unit that faces 15th and it is loud 24/7. The blinds are installed backwards (in all the units from what I can tell), so if you want to have a window open to let in the air, you can't slide the vertical blinds out of the way. You will just have to keep the windows closed or listen to the clanking and slapping of the blinds. The complex handled a noise request about our neighbor promptly and they have on-site maintenance to help you even on Sundays! There is VERY limited street parking, so they charge a ridiculous amount of money ($100/month) for parking garage spots. The post office/UPS can leave packages in the office for you, but they (the office) will likely never notify you that your package arrived. The grounds are kept clean, but the workout room has no windows or doors that open so it can get oppressively hot & stinky in there. They have free tanning -- they don't maintaint it, so you have to go twice the amount you normally would tan. The staff is sometimes nice & helpful, but they never answer the phone. The elevator makes moving in & out nice. It takes forever to get hot water (we're on the 3rd floor), you have to run it a long time which isn't good for the environment and makes for high utility bills (yes, you have to pay your utils here). The experience hasn't been terrible, we like the location and the view, but we can't wait to move out when our lease is up!
My girlfriend and I lived at Wharfside Pointe for nine months. I am glad my lease ended. 24 hour street noise from the Ballard Bridge or neighbor's dogs barking to keep you up at night is only the start of this complex. The outside of the building has dog poop everywhere, not to mention it smelling because of it. If you move in, plan on paying the $85 a month for parking because street parking is awful; hard to get, not to mention hit and runs and car break-ins both in the garage and on the street. Also.. do you enjoy driving to put your garbage in the dumpster? Management is totally unhelpful and will not give you a deal anywhere. This place is a money pit. No utilities are included either, so plan on paying about $50-70 for utilities and $40 for electricity. I read reviews before I moved in and thought my nice apartment would prove other reviewers wrong. It did not... There are cheaper better apartments out there. Trust me. If you don't believe me, plan on writing a review like this when your lease ends.
