Horrible, rude management. My physically disabled father lived here before he passed away and what treated poorly. His first apartment had foundation damage and he had to move into another building on the property, which they later charged him extra fees for. It took management several months to put in a handicap sign, even with persistent reminders. There was a promise of ramps being put in after he became wheelchair bound, that never happened. They are horrible about maintenance, do not salt or shovel sidewalks/walkways covered in ice and snow. Even accused my family about lying about my father's death to get out of paying the rent. This place is very over priced for what you get; everything is old and cheap. Numerous occupants have moved out in the last 6 months because of this problem and because the rent keeps getting higher due to "renovations" that are going on throughout the property, yet there are been no renovations done.
This place ( The Mansion ) is like a hell hole. I can't wait to get out of it. The buildings are so old that when I first moved in everything seemed like it is falling apart like the electricity outlets. Also, the Ac was burned out when I first moved in. The buildings are so old that you can hear the voices of your neighbours coughing. All the management can say about this is that it is part of the experience of living in an apartment. The design of the apartments is not really sufficient. As for the neighbours themselves, some of them are just inconsiderate to others. For example, the woman whom I live above keeps smoking just outside her apartment and I can smell it from my bedroom. She also keeps talking loudly. She doesn't seem to be restrained by the management warning letters. As for the dogs' owner, some of them are just disrespectful. Their dogs keep barking all day and night and some owners don't leash their dogs. So, you should expect to be attacked by dogs when go outside your apartment. The management should restrict the pet policies instead of just charging pet owners. I feel that the management only cares about collecting money more than tenants themselves. The only good thing about the Mansion is the location and staff other than that absolutely nothing. Bottom line, if you want my advice, don't consider this place at all. I wouldn't even recommend this place to my enemy. By the way, if you love to see dogs' waste everywhere, then the Mansion is your place. Some might say it is pet owners responsibility. Well, we pay for trash and based on that we shouldn't see any. The management should act very seriously about this instead of thinking of ways of how to charge tenants.
This place is just awful. They find anything to charge you for once you move out. The majority of what they charged us for was already broken when we moved in. It wasn't clean when we first moved in and yet, they still charged us a "cleaning fee" when we left. The insulation is absolutely terrible. If you want to spend around $300+ a month on electric, this is the place for you. We even tried to discuss all of this with the manager a few days after moving out, and we received no advice except "tough luck". If they had had good customer service, we probably would have been willing to let everything else go.
Do not move here! The appliances in the apartments are extremely out dated. While the apartment staff is nice, they are extremely unresponsive. An example of this is when my smoke detector quit working and it took them three months and numerous phone calls and emails to finally send a worker out to replace it! The rent seems reasonable at first, but if you plan to renew your lease after a year, they increase your rent a substantial amount. Also, when you move out of your apartment, they charge an outrageous amount of money for things that are not perfect. A few examples of this are: $30 for each set of blinds they have to replace (they cost roughly $7 at Walmart), $10 for each door stopper that has to be replaced ($3 for a 3 pack at Walmart) and $10 for each hole in the wall that has to be fixed (they even charge $10 for a thumb tack hole!) Lastly, there was a small (1 foot by 1 foot max) rip in my carpet in the corner of a room. They stated they could not fix the spot and have to replace the carpet in the entire apartment! This cost me over $500. The location is nice, but the headaches you will go through living here are not worth it at all. And this review is not me complaining due to a negative experience, before I moved out I spoke to numerous residents who had dealt with similiar issues and they are moving too.
I absolutely love The Mansion. I recently just moved in around June, 2014 from a different apartment complex in the area and I have only lived here about a month but I am extremely satisfied. I was lucky and got brand new carpet when I moved in. The place was surface clean but my parents and I had a lot of deep cleaning to do. We thoroughly cleaned behind the fridge, stove, and behind the washer and drier and it was absolutely disgusting behind them. My blinds were very sticky and gross and I needed a new air filter and spoke to the staff about it and my needs were immediately met. You can't expect apartments built in the 1980s to be spotless and you'll have to do some cleaning on your own but it is definitely worth it. I feel right at home and my apartment is absolutely perfect for me. There is a beautiful pool outside surrounded with friendly people along with a big dog park and a gym. The staff is amazing! They are extremely accommodating and very nice. If you have any problems around your apartment you just fill out a short form online and maintenance will come the next day. They are awesome and speedy! I love living here and I definitely recommend this place to anyone. The only thing I didn't like was that the place wasn't the cleanest when I moved in but everything else is perfect.
