Hope that you NEVER have to deal with management. I was out of a/c for 2 weeks and did not receive compensation. They also changed the payment portal and MOVED offices without notifying tenants. Then issued a ton of eviction notices, 6 on my floor alone when people had issues making payments with the new portal that was not properly explained. BEAUTIFUL apartments, WONDERFUL amenities, TERRIBLE staff is an understatement
Been here since 2012..started off great... NOW, not at all.. They've lost our money orders and then punish us for it, we had receipts that we paid.. They're incompetent.. Management is horrible. They lost the money orders twice, and both times they treated us as if it's our fault.. Sent emails to management concerning this issue, with money order receipts, they have the nerve to give us late fees, and send late rent notices after something that they lost, although we've provided money order receipts, and emails with the communication between myself and Western Union.. I really really am deterring anyone from moving into these apartments? After Ben left, these apartments have went downhill, and so has the management.. You would think they would treat a resident that's been here for 3 years a lot better.. The amenities are not always working.. Pool smell like trash in Savoye 2, the tv's not always working in the theatre room and lounge. The best thing about these apartments is the bar, because they drive you to drink... I have never written a review about anything, but this was just plain horrible.. I've lived in cheaper apartments that were a lot better than these. DO NOT MOVE INTO UDR APARTMENTS!!! trust me, you will regret every bit of it.. The floors are thin, you can hear your neighbors cough, people are letting their animals pee in the halls, and in the garage, nothing is being done about it from the management.. They mop the elevators with old dirty mop water.. if I haven't said it yet.. DO NOT MOVE INTO THESE APARTMENTS... Reading the reviews, if everyone is saying the same thing, than evidently it's true.. BTW, I found out, we're not the only one that they lost money orders from, and this came from directly out the managements mouth...
My boyfriend and I have been here for a month. We loved the location and of course the amenities are wonderful. The apartment, however, is nothing like we thought it would be. It was dirty when we moved in and ants appeared within a week of living here (on the 4th floor)! Please understand that we are not dirty people and I have never had ants in my apartment even when I lived in a first floor unit. We were told twice that exterminators would be out but we have yet to see them. Instead, we have bought our own ant repellents and are trying to get rid of them ourselves. If you decide to move here, just hope that you have an apartment without any issues, because it is very difficult to get a hold of anyone. We called and left 4 messages about the dirt, our broken closet shelf, disposal and lights before I finally had to explain my frustration to maintenance (Arron is great!) in order to get a direct number to the new community director. I was told the 4 voicemails we left on 3 different phones were all for people that had left. Recently we were locked out of the garage and our fobs weren't working for 2 days (this happened after already living here for 3 weeks). Management had a ton of turn over before we moved in which may have contributed to our issues. We had both lived in Addison Circle before we moved here and much preferred how we were treated there and for less money! We will be leaving here at the end of the year. If our experience changes I will update in 6 months
Don't let the amazing amenities fool you into renting here. I am currently renting the create layout for around $1421/mo before fees and they have the current market price at $1800/mo. If you don't rent in the tower it is extremely loud, and the staff will "forget" to inform you that there is a fire station up the road that uses Vitruvian as a cut through ALL the time (sirens blaring at any hour). This is SUPPOSED to be a non-smoking facility, but people smoke ALL the time. Don't even think about complaining either because no one will respond to you. Dog parents allow their pets to use the restroom on cars and in the parking garages, but the staff ignores the problem. A neighbor of mine got her radio stolen out of her car on the 3rd floor gated and "video taped" parking garage and the front desk refused to help her take care of the issue and also refused to work with the police on the matter. The front desk people all seem so nice and willing to help you at first, but about 2-3 months after being here you can forget them helping you. Christie is the only one who ever helped me, but one amazing person can't make up for the rest of the staff. I understand this is a rather large complex, but if you do not have the man/woman power to maintain it properly, then don't do it at all. If you need work done to your apartment the maintenance crew will more than likely get to you the next, if not the same, day, which is nice. The building is also settling in places, and the drive is collapsing in, but they are currently working on fixing the drive. If you rent the Savoye be aware that there are 5 speed bumps you must drive over every time you wish to enter the parking garage. I found another apartment with the same caliber of amenities and quality down the road for $800 cheaper. I will be putting in my 60 days notice this week.
