Very very old apartments with extremely poor maintenance..
Lived here for about 9 months, staff is great but everything is a bit old. Water is shut off a lot for maintenance.
Have been living in this community for sometime now. Mostly these guys are fine if you need to get small things fixed, or some emergency issue. But we have seen things like hot water going off on couple of days, water pipelines will freeze in winters, no water on some days etc. etc. Within our apartment, we have had cabinets falling off, closet door go off time to time, front door getting loose, etc...They don't do any upkeep or regular maintenance if you have been living here for long. Also, we have heard major safety issues here. Like in one of our friends' apartment here, someone threw objects in the wee hours of morning breaking their glass window. It was pretty crazy just knowing about it.. So safety can be concern.. Another crazy thing these guys do is send you eviction notices, even if you have $1 rent remaining. :) This is after enabling automated payment enabled on their website. And plus will come a late fee of $40-50... I guess you got an idea.. so choose this place if you are looking for some excitement!
I've lived in Camden Pinehurst for 7 months and have no complaints. The staff has been great to work with in every regard. I've had a few minor maintenance requests (outlet not working, shower head broken). Both were fixed within a day and I received e-ml updates as to the status. One of the reviewers below made reference to police calls and thugs. I'm very conscious of this sort of thing and I've yet to see any incidents that gave me concern. Yes, the apartments are old, with old appliances, cabinets, etc. But, for the price, I think this is a great value. If you want a newer apt with newer appliances, you'll pay much more in rent. I did a great deal of shopping around, including looking at crime statistics all over Charlotte, and believe this is the best value for the money in town. From reading the other reviews, some of which are a few years old, I have to think one of the following. Either these people had unique, negative experiences. Or, staff, upkeep, has improved drastically in the last year or so. Or, these people had unrealistic expectations, thinking they could pay a very modest amount in rent and have the latest, shiniest, newest of everything.
