Up until 3 days before I left I didn't mind living here. Then someone stole my motorcycle from their "Locked" garage. Ohh wait, the gate was broken and instead of fixing it they hired a security guard to standby. Only problem was they couldnt "afford" to hire one for all of the nights it was broken as it turns out after talking to the security company. Also turns out mine wasn't the first one stolen in the last month leading up to that night. Awesome!
New management company as of the beginning of 2014, around the same time I moved in. Haven't had any issues and the staff is nice and flexible to anything I need as long as I ask. Common areas can get a little dirty and neighbors don't make keeping up with the mess any easier. Overall, it's a pretty decent place to live. Good price and good apartment.
This place could not be worse. Here are 4 reasons why not to live in Savannah Midtown Apartments. 1. Price. The cost of living here is a joke. You pay close to 900 dollars for a double without utilities included. If you are thinking about living here for 5-6 months, absolutely do not do it, there are other apartment complexes in this area that are the same price, if not cheaper, with better services and qualities (Alexander on Ponce or any Post apartment). This place is not worth it. Do not live here. 2. The amenities are SO misleading. The hot tub(s) (only one works) is absolutely disgusting and doesnt heat up. The basketball and tennis courts are made out of rebar. Good luck actually trying to run or bounce any kind of ball on this surface. Its terrible. All of the lights surrounding the basketball court are broken and they refuse to fix them, so as soon as it gets dark, you cant play. Even after asking for 4 months for them to be replaced, ( which would cost close to nothing and is a huge legal liability) they refuse to improve the lighting. 3. The utilities are a complete nightmare. Somehow, every tenant that I have talked to experiences ridiculous bills from Georgia Power for electricity and water. I am personally experiencing this as well. The bills are absurd and you are completely overcharged for the amount of electricity and water you ACTUALLY use. Don't live here. 4. The new management staff never fails to live up to the classic stereotype of a total pain to work with. They have the most inconvenient hours. If you have a job and work normal hours, you will learn to hate the management when you are trying to get anything done. They leave early and close at 6. God forbid you work 8-5 and get home after the Atlanta traffic at around 6, nope, you cant get helped. Also, getting your packages from them is a joke as well. They loose/misplace and deny having the package even though its sitting right there in front of them. This has happened on 3 separate occasions. Just to reinforce hour inconvenient their hours are, they dont tell you if they are having special hours until the day of, so good luck expecting to claim your possessions, you wont get them at your convenience. DO NOT COUNT ON THEM FOR ANYTHING.
I've been here since early summer. Not going to say it's the best, but it definitely does not seem to be the worst. We have new management this month, been bought out by lincoln apts. Only time will tell if they're good. I've never really had much of a complaint. Customer Service is great! If I ever need maintenance, they'll be here the next day. If I ever need to contact anyone with an issue, the front desk is more than happy to help. If any of my neighbors are being too loud, a simple knock on their door and polite request to tone it down, is usually extremely effective. Love how we live next to Publix and are in walking distance to MARTA and Georgia Tech. Never choose building 4. It's the trash building. There has been one shooting in the garage since I've been here, I received a notice on the door that it occurred while I was gone for the holidays. That does not make me feel good. But, you need to get past 3 locked doors to even get to my apartment, and it's not the worst neighborhood. There is a courtesy officer on duty so that helps. For the most part, I feel safe living here. (I wouldn't live here if I didn't)
I strongly advise against living here. Initially, I gave the complex 2 stars. However, because of the ongoing crime and management's refusal to acknowledge the problem and implement corrective measures, I downgraded my rating to 1 star. I have lived in many apartment complexes in the past and rate this one at the bottom of the list. You can do far better than this place and I highly encourage you to consider other places.
