Notable experiences: For a period of 7 full days, there was no water whatsoever. No showers, no dishwashing, NOTHING. This was because the (very old) water heater for the complex had calcium deposits that needed to be cleaned out. Old, broken-down appliances and severe mold problems are the worst offenders for me in this complex. However, this place is also a dumping ground for abandoned vehicles. It once took over a year to get somebody's abandoned car towed from the complex, even though it had two flat tires and a years-expired registration. The location is not worth it. Living close to Target won't seem so great when you've spent your 6th day without a shower, or when you have to drive out to the laundromat because the washing machine is broken down again. I wish I could move.
I dont even know where to start... Every single office worker knew nothing. I always dealt with someone different and it was never enjoyable. Avoid this place and if you have to live here keep copies of everything. Water damage, incompetent work crews taking months to do one job, no hot water in cold months. I could go on... I hate mission james place
Horrible. Just horrible. They leased me and my roommate a unit that was unavailable because of a roof leak. After we signed and payed the deposit and other fees. Our move in date was 3 days away. They said this unit has been unavailable for over a year now and that the girl that did it was new. But I actually have a friend that moved there 4 months ago and the same lady got him moved in. They didn't even call to tell us we could live there instead it took me 3 days to get ahold of them so finally I went up there on my day off and they broke the news to me. So when asked how long it would take to fix the roof she says one week to a year! Wow it's been 3 weeks and I still haven't received my $350 back yet. I've also tried calling there three days in a row and left messages with some one to call me back. But still nothing. Don't bother with this place. There are so many other options in Austin.
Run from this place as fast as you can! For starters they will show you a model apt. that is nothing like the one you will get when you get in. The painting is shoddy. They don't even bother throwing down a drop cloth so all the floors are speckled with paint. They have tried to stretch the life of the bathtubs buy resurfacing. I use that term loosely because that and the caulking looks like it was done by a blind 5 year old. At this point you have already signed and paid all the fees thinking you were moving into something that looked like the model. It gets worse from there! Now your stuck for a year and then the random notes with charges start showing up. They won't explain clearly what exactly they are for but they will hound you for payment. Nothing works, it smells and even though you are paying in your lease for pest control, your apartment has fleas!! So you get finally to the end of your lease. Kind of. You pay last months rent but move out a month early because a year of this dump and their rude staff is all you can take. Then they come up with a laundry list of charges for things that were wrong when you moved in. Then to add insult to injury they refuse to take a check and say they don't take a check!? But when you try to pay online there is a $38 convenience fee. OMG! Why am I surprised!? But I call to complain and state the obvious, that the fee is ridiculous. The next thing I know my bill has doubled and the original was deleted from their website. I'm just scratching the surface as to how disgusting the apts and the management is to work with. So again, run! Run as fast as you can!
STAY AWAY! This place is atrocious on multiple levels. The management is the definition of insanity. Half the time the right hand has no idea what the left hand is doing. And this is with the supposedly new Management group. Maintenance is a wish and a prayer. If you have an issue, expect 10+ visits with no fix or the same fix reapplied multiple times. The buildings are very old and decrepit. No matter what they tell you, you'll enjoy roof leaks year round. Broken gutters, old A/C units, ect... Not too mention forcing you to pay excessive fees on top of your monthly rent for services you do not want nor need. And you'll love the constant harassing notes left on your door, most of which are not even accurate and you will have to go to the office to clear up their "financial discrepancies". That's only part of the problems. Since living here for 9 months I have had 2 bikes stolen off my porch, 2 truck hitches stolen, an attempted autotheft of my truck, a busted window and 4 stolen packages. The proximity to 290 overpass means transients and homeless walk through your parking lots at all hours of the night. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to live. This place is a little piece of hell masquerading as acceptable living.
