I have lived at Bennington Ridge for almost a year now and I have had ups and downs with this place. Overall, the apartments are very nice. I enjoy having a washer and drier and spacious closets. The appliances are modern and I have not found any bugs or mold in my apt. On the downside, I will warn you that maintenance takes a very long time and does not complete a task all the way through. I requested to have my door fixed in June when I moved in and it's been almost a year and they continue to somehow not fix it correctly. I will also say while it's nice being away from the city, this area is a pretty sketchy and I have heard of multiple crimes in the news taken place at bennington ridge and apartments in the area. The pool is not a "sparkling pool" and they didn't open it until July this year as well as never maintained the volleyball area. They gym is a joke.. very outdated equipment and hardly anything at all in there. These were big perks for me when I moved in and am a little upset I couldn't use what I was hoping for. I wish the office was open on Sunday's or that they at least had a drop box to put rent deposits in because they charge a $9.00 admin fee online if you pay that way. I noticed the office staff has changed multiple times since being here and they say they are open until 6 but I have been there at 5:30 to pay a bill and they have already locked the doors. Overall, I would give this place a 2.5 out of 5 stars. Your best bet is to not settle for what looks good on the tour, but do your research about what you're getting yourself in to (neighborhood, maintenance, amenities, etc).
Good: Next to a park. Close to 435 without having to hear it. Near a grocery store and QT Maintenance staff. Most issues are resolved within 24 hours. Leasing Staff (pre 11/2015). The ladies who used to work there were always pleasant and would go out of their way to be helpful. In one instance they let utility folks in and moved my dog from a room the Fiber guys had to go into. Bad: Upkeep of the grounds is lacking. Stairs and banisters are in a sorry state. Loose steps and flaked paint. Gutters above stairs were bent causing water to flow over the side and eroding the concrete below. Requested that it be fixed but were denied. Parking lot lines are faded/non-existent. People would park across two spots because they couldn't see a line. Requested that someone repaint the lines were also denied. Common areas desperately needed to be power washed. Other tenants and I would leave brooms outside so that when we could not stand it any longer we could sweep some of the cobwebs and dirt away. Never washed in the years I lived there. Volleyball court, tanning both, and hot tub don’t function. Leasing Staff (post 11/2015). Worst move out experience I’ve ever had. It started when I tried to schedule a walk through for moving out. I was informed that one couldn’t be scheduled before my move out but I would be contacted to schedule one for after. • 11/25, A few days before my lease is up I go to the office to return my keys and ask about the walk-through. I’m told they would contact me to schedule one. Weeks go by and I don’t hear anything. • 12/18, I call the office about the walk-through. I’m told the PM has already conducted it and charges have been placed on my account. I ask that the PM call me to explain the situation. A week later I noticed that I have a large utility charge on my account as well. My lease was up on the 28th and I had my last paid utility bill. • 12/30, I FINALLY get a hold of the PM. I ask what happened to all my requests for a walk though and she says she never received them. I indicate that the utility charge is unusual because I have my records of final bills paid and the charge levied was larger than any month’s utility bill while I lived there. She asks that I send her the bill and she will credit my account. I send the bill that day. • 1/15, I reply to my original email asking if the bill has been received. I get a response that day that it has not and to send it again. I do so, same day. • 1/20, I reply again asking if the bill has been reviewed. No response. • 1/28, I reply again asking if my bill has been reviewed. She responses that she will review and get back to me by tomorrow. • 2/1, (4 days later) I hear back that she has credited my account. Also on 2/1 I receive a voice message from a debt agency that my balance has been transferred to them for collection. I immediately call the agency and pay the balance minus what should have been credited to my account. I call the PM and ask what happened and why I’m getting calls from debt collectors while she is still reviewing the account. She says that she will contact the debt collectors and inform them of the credit. • 2/5, I get a message from the collectors that my account still has the balance from the utility charge. I ask if the PM has contacted them to correct the issue. NOPE. I am guarded of my credit and don’t want to risk taking a hit because someone won’t do their job. I pay the balance knowing that the money will be refunded to me. At this point it is clear that this PM couldn’t care less about this situation. Final outcome was my balance was paid, minus the over charge, and I did not take any hit to my credit. The last time I spoke with the PM and mentioned my frustration at the whole process I got the “I’m sorry you feel that way” line. This lets me know that my feelings are my own problem and I can’t be bothered to give your concerns one more ounce of my attention. Living there was mostly a good experience but trying to leave was hell. *BEWARE*
Lived here for a few years , I enjoy my apartment ,anytime a have any issues I contact staff and its always been dealt with in a timely manner and friendly staff . Our new look around the grounds are much appreciated . And things are brighter and more friendly in the office . I like the New , and the great changes to improve it was a welcoming change . Things are Looking UP . Now if we could get residents to hit the dumpsters in the trash area or help out when they see things on the grounds to pick them up and place them in the dumpsters it would would help if everyone could do a little bit to improve it all helps .
I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone. Maintenance took short cuts with my bathroom ceiling mold that lead to the bathroom ceiling leaking for a week. I tried emergency maintenance several times in one weekend and got no response. I had to call management to even get them look at it. After another incident I found the customer service at the office to be slow. I ask about ending my lease or comprising on the termination fee and it takes them a week to say no. I've even been in contact with elevate management corporate office. They don't respond in a sufficient manner to my emails either. I'm extremely dissatisfied to the point that I AM willing to pay to get out of this place.
This place is a joke. I am a long term tenant and I wouldn't reccomend this place to anyone! My family and I have been stuck here due to credit issues, so we have had to deal with the misery that is Bennington Ridge apartments for the last 4 years! The staff is rude as hell namely Stacey! We have had several maintenance issues in this place, ya know the things we pay for to have working. Well on more than one occasion I've been told my request wasn't a priority so there would be no known time as to when it would get fixed. For example my washer has gone out several times and I've had to wait weeks and weeks for it to even get looked at! Another example my stove caught fire after hours and I called the maintenance emergency hotline, oh but it wasn't emergency. I guess since the whole apartment didn't catch fire it wasn't a problem to them. The stove still didn't get replaced and still doesn't work properly til this day. I've had rude and horrible neighbors who keyed my car, threatened myself and my husband and so forth and it took us going above managements heads to get anything done about it! We had police records, public saftey at our door every night yet the management didn't see any prominent issues that needed to be addressed until we went over their heads. Even then we were moved to another apartment which upon arrival several amenities didnt work, our door had been bashed in is what it looks like, so the door doesn't seal and that has yet to be fixed, there are gaps in all the doors and windows which have yet to be fixed..... you see the pattern here. This is only a short example of the long list of problems we've had with this place. This place is just a serious joke. Don't move in here plain and simple. Don't waste your money!
