Extreme lack of professionalism. My wife and I had re-located. We had been told that everything would be taken care of within the week. We had read some of the bad reviews in the past, and had decided to ignore them considering the circumstances and what we had read. We stopped looking, because the property manager had indicated that everything would be taken care of within the week. We had waited on a response after submitting our application. We ended up having to call the office to check up on our paperwork. Instead, we were told they weren't able to reach us. However, we had been contacted via email and phone prior. So our phone numbers were on file. We had heard excuse after excuse instead of an "I'll fix it attitude". We had been told they had to also contact our school, work, etc. Even though, this was not clarified at the beginning. We were more than willing to assist still, calling up our employers for them. We did most of the legwork from there, even though they had indicated they would take care of the background and communication. During our wait we had expected some answers, but none were given. Severe lack of communication. I did not get an email, phone call, etc. Although, they had our information on file during the exchange. We were followed by more false statements. To put it simply, neither apartment we checked was suitable for the amenities offered. instead of pointing blame at future tenants, be honest, and reputable. To make it worse, we are now homeless because of the incompetence of this management. Save your time and effort. Don't rent from here.might I add this definitely put a strain on on me being a full time worker as well as a full time student.
Great place to live in. At night it's silent and I really enjoy living here. I live with my mom only. Enough space for two people. The maintenance is great & really respectful. The staff are sweet and understanding. Great apartments. Props to Isvela Y. Morataya. She's the property manager. She's helpful and respectful. I recommend Ridgewood apartments.
a guy followed my girlfriend from her car to the door and only ran off when I came out. multiple times people were hanging out outside and sitting on my car. large, noisy families packed into 2 bedroom apartments. bus stop is loaded with people in the morning, most of whom will try to panhandle from you if you walk by. staff is poor, in my experience it took days for maintenance and the lady at the office was incredibly condescending on more than one occasion. wound up breaking my lease after someone broke into my car. avoid.
Apartment has been infested with roaches for whole year, even after "pest control services". Mold damage due to water leaking in washer. Walls and ceilings are very thin, making things very noisy. Sink has backed up multiple times due to interconnected plumbing system with neighboring apartments. Bathtub does not drain completely. Predatory towing services employed to tow guest cars and charge over $250 in towing fees. Rent is unbelievably high for tiny, low-quality apartments. Bad area of Carrboro with high crime rate. Ridgewood staff show little to no concern for their residents.
Ridgewood is a great single apartment complex. I got the second floor so I didn't have to worry about noise from upstairs. A couple times I was able to hear people from adjacent apartments but for the most part people were respectable and kept noises to a reasonable level. The location is great with a bus stop right across the street, but I have a car so I don't have to worry about that too much. There's a lot of room in the apartment for only one person, and everything has been working fine. I keep my apartment fairly clean and have had no problems with bugs, mice, roaches, or anything like that. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for an affordable single!
