My wife and I have lived at Camden Heights for about two and a half months, and overall, it has been pleasant with a few major inconveniences. Pros: ~Nice living space - The apartment is laid out nicely and cosmetically looks nice ~Location - The location is awesome! About a mile and a half outside of downtown, and right by the bars and restaurants of the Heights. Also, the Heights Hike and Bike Trail and a few nice parks are close by. ~Reasonable rent - Rent seems comparable to what you get and to other apartments in the area ~Noise - So far we have no complaints about the noise, it has been very quiet ~Pet Friendly - Camden Heights seems to be very pet friendly and incorporates most types and all sizes of dog ~Staff - The staff is very friendly, and maintenance seems to take care of small issues in a timely manner Cons: ~Water issues - Eh....this is a biggie. In the two months we've lived here there have been about 5 issues with water pipes that have led to the whole apartment complex shutting off their water for multiple hours during the day. The shutoffs usually last at least 4-5 hours, with the longest so far lasting about 9 hours. So far there has been no compensation for the issues. ~Inconsiderate pet owners - This is probably a problem anywhere people with pets live, but many owners do not pick up after their pets and many dogs run around outside without leashes. Aside from the major inconvenience, this is also a safety issue, and unfortunately I witnessed a small dog get attacked by a large dog that was off the leash within our first month of living here. ~Small parking spaces - I know this an issue in most apartment parking garages, but the spaces are just too small. ~Valet Waste - I'm not saying having valet trash is a bad thing, although being forced to purchase it instead of having it as an option is a little frustrating. The fact that lately the service hasn't been provided consistently despite being paid for is even more frustrating. ~Lack of Community - Camden has a great online community site where all the residents can join groups based on their interests, talk to one another, and look at the community calendar to see what events are coming up. Only problem is staff never updates the calendar, and will usually send an email out to residents about an hour before an event is to start. This makes it impossible for most residents to attend. Overall, living at Camden Heights has been pretty nice except for the water issue. If not for that, I would have given Camden Heights four, and possibly five stars, but due to the major inconvenience I can not. If the water issues get better, I'll update my review accordingly. If they do, I would gladly recommend Camden Heights to anyone looking for a nice, reasonably priced apartment in Houston.
Between the water consistently being shut off, the gate clickers not working, and the fact we pay a ridiculous amount of money to live here, this place sucks. Oh and by the way, I have had 3 packages lost because this place will not accept packages that will not fit in the mailbox. Keep in mind, that mailbox might be able to fit one of my shoes. Unacceptable by any standard and they act like it is no big deal. Currently very unhappy with where I live........
I've been at Camden for roughly 2 years. So far, it's been a pleasant experience. The staff are friendly, food trucks are always parked out front, and maintenance is usually quick. My only gripe is that the front gate for the past few months has been constantly under repair after various damages. I realize it's not their fault bad drivers are going to be bad, but the manager should take the initiative to order gate parts to have on hand. Besides that, I would recommend anyone to stay here. Cheers!
Camden Heights are nice apartments. The staff are friendly and helpful and the maintenance guys are quick to respond if you were to have any problems. The location is awesome and the apartments often sponsor happy hours at local bars and social events in the leasing center.
I have lived in these apartments for about the last year and a half and they have been great.Yes, the rent can be a little expensive but it is competitive as you are paying more for the location. The appliances could be better but they have started the process of upgrading units to stainless steel, if i am not mistaken. Security is the only complaint that I have, but in the past couple of months they have started to make this a major concen; ie placing security guard outside the gate on occasion. The staff are great and I would have to take my hat off to Ali Nematpour. He has made my experience more enjoyable and has made me feel as part of the Camden community. He goes above and beyond to help you. The manager Tina is also great, she is very kind and will try and accomodate you in an emergency. Overall Camden is great and I would recommend living here.
