Older building, not well insulated, windows very thin allowing a lot of air in and out when closed. Very cold in the winter, hot in the summer. Old A/Cs, visible just by walking the property, so you can tell they are limping these systems along. This means higher bills. Pets and poop everywhere. Leaves everywhere. You can hear your neighbors sneeze or cough! Repairs are often and redundant. Decent response time on repairs, but "quick fixes" which means it WILL happen again. Office tells you one thing, but provides another. They "act" real nice though. Moving the day before the end of my lease!! Can't wait! If you can afford it (not much more than these) go next door to Capehouse!
I was relocating to Jacksonville a little over a year ago and visited many apartment communities but was won over by how "comfortable" I felt the moment I walked into Country Club Lakes. I can't express the sense of community I feel in our little neighborhood. Very happy with everything from leasing staff, great maintenance, location to fitness program and I would highly recommend anyone to live here! Thank you!
I just moved in this past Thursday (8/14). I had scheduled this move-in date about a month prior. Upon moving in, there were numerous issues with the unit they gave me. First off, the keys they gave me did not open the front door. Second, the A/C was not running properly, so I had the maintenance guy who came to open my front door for me replace the filter, which looked like it hadn't been changed in 8 months. This is something that is typically done before a new tenant moves in. The A/C still only cools to about 75 degrees, which is fine, but it runs continuously trying to maintain that temperature. Additionally, the master toilet is constantly running and they are yet to send a plumber to fix the bulb. Then there is the kitchen. The cabinets were not cleaned, there was still grease and grime on and inside of them, some of the handles were falling out, an entire drawer was disconnected from the back of the cabinet so it was falling in, and the dishwasher was filled with standing water. These are all things that should be taken care of prior to someone taking possession of an apartment. Then my second day here, there is a heavy rain and I hear a dripping, and wouldn't you know it, my window was leaking! I called maintenance immediately and he suggested I put a towel down (...I don't know why I didn't think of that!) and I had to wait until today (Monday) for a maintenance contractor to come out to "repair" the window. Now, when it was raining I noticed the gutters were accomplishing 0% of what they're supposed to do. No water was being diverted into the downspout, it was all overflowing from the sides, so clearly the gutters were pretty clogged up. Instead of calling a certified company to clean out the gutters, the front office contacted this third-party maintenance company to come clean out just the one section of the gutters above my window. The rest of the building's gutters are still completely full of plant matter and gunk. Needless to say, I'm incredibly disappointed with my experience here, and I'm only 4 days in. Oh, and I was supposed to have a garage upon my move-in date. Still waiting for my garage to be ready (even though I'm being charged for it). When I asked the property manager if there would be any form of compensation for all of this stuff I've had to put up with (i.e. free garage for a month, lower rent for next month) she said there would be now monetary compensation but that they would get all of the work done (work that should have been done before I even moved in here). I'm giving it two stars because aside from all of these hassles it really is a nice place. It's just a shame they can't handle the work load of running a multimillion dollar facility.
One of my best renting experiences! Staff is amazing, Maintenance is fast and effective, Pool and grounds are well kept and spacious units with plenty of storage. Highly Recommend! Thank you CCL!
I live and work at Country Club Lakes and truly enjoy it. It's a beautiful community with a lot to offer. The GoFit classes are free and are now offered 5 nights a week. These classes include Zumba, Pilates, Yoga, and BootCamp. Since Goldoller purchased Country Club Lakes in February 2013, they have added many improvements and upgrades.
