I lived here for just over 2 years. The only reason that I had to move out was because my rent was sky-rocketing. After 2 years, the total rent would have been $850, and I just couldn't afford to do that. This was a very great place to live, I highly enjoyed my time at this apartment. The community was beautiful and a great place to live. The office staff and maintenance team were all always very nice to me and very helpful whenever I needed them. I would recommend this apartment community to anyone, and if I ever get the chance, I'd probably move back if the rent is in my price range! FANTASTIC apartments, check this one out!
Full disclosure: I did not live here, a friend did. Though I did spend a fair amount of time here. So it's an apartment complex. There are some amenities - pool, modest workout room, car wash area, access to Lake Lynn. Occasionally a food truck shows up. They just started offering valet trash service, which I guess is nice. I suppose I would appreciate it if I were older or disabled. People are generally friendly and the staff document repairs. They are pet friendly. Now for the negatives or drawbacks. Some residents smoke inside their apartments so the bathrooms end up smelling like cigarette smoke. This seems to be worse in the winter, either because people smoke inside more or due to the request for people to open their cabinets to keep the pipes warm. Whatever the reason my friend was sometimes exposed to 2nd hand smoke. This is kind of sad since we all know smoking and cancer are linked and there are a lot of people, children and pets living here that aren't making that choice but are being subjected to it. It would be great if they made the complex or at least some buildings smoke free. The complex is average noisiness on the whole. There are families and children and young and old people here. My friend did overhear a domestic dispute a few times. The disputing couple eventually left. No idea if management helped encourage them or not. Finally, rent was being raised last I heard, which makes it less than an amazing deal.
I moved from Charlotte in Aug 2013 to Bridgeport and loved the fact that Lake Lynn was my backyard. Since living at Bridgeport a lot of changes have been made and one being management. The first few months I lived there they had promoted the assistant manager, Ashley to manager and she has done a great job at improving the community. They re-pipped all the buildings, brand new patio furniture by the pool (my first summer), replaced all washer and dryers with new ones(my second year they sent me a survey when I resigned and I mentioned that being something that could be improved), renovated the grilling area with new gas grill and 2 corn hole game set up, and new exterior paint job/repairs. Anytime I have questions or concerns I always get in touch with Ashley, Mary, or Meghan in a efficient amount of time and issues resolved quickly. The maintenance team are really friendly guys. I never worry when I'm not home because the Bridgeport team goes above and beyond.
Do not move here!! First, the management is horrible. Everytime you go to the office to handle business, they are rude and unprofessional. In addition, they have implented towing, which is a huge inconveniece when having guests over. The visitor parking is full every day by 6pm, and I have noticed the same cars parked there every night. They claim there is not enough parking for residents; however, there is plenty and they still felt the need to tow my truck. Second, the breed restrictions are ridiculous. They claim many breeds are known for their violent nature, yet the most aggresive dogs I have seen there are not on the breed restrictions list. And lastly, almost as soon as I moved in this January, the apartment started falling apart. All of the fixtures, blinds, carpet etc is the cheapest it comes. The paint rubs off on your hands, dishwasher malfunctions every few months, blinds are cheap and can easily break. Overall, I would say this is the worst place I have ever lived and I cannot wait to move out in a few weeks. This is not a family friendly apartments--two deaths have happened since I moved here in January, and cop cars are frequently riding through. Drug deals occur in the early mornings, and I would not advise anyone to move here.
I love my home here at Bridgeport Apts. I have been here for over 2 years and can't image living anywhere else. From helping me get my car unstuck during the winter weather to responding to any questions I have, the Bridgeport team goes above and beyond. I chose to live here because of the caring nature of the office staff. I stay for the same reasons.
