We moved into The Cairns just over one month ago, and hope that this wonderful place will be our home for years to come. The building is incredibly well-maintained and clean. Concrete floors add to the charm and to noise-proofing. The amenities-small gym, entertainment lounge w/full kitchen, rooftop lounge area are great perks, also very well maintained. Very convenient Italian cafe on one side and German pub on the other. Outstanding rooftop facility and views. Best of all, the staff here is amazing. Scott Liedele, head of maintenance, has made our moving-in experience the best ever, and he goes beyond the call of duty to help residents any way he can. Sam Meas, at the front desk, is friendly, smart, efficient, and also makes a special effort to take care of the residents. We are thrilled with The Cairns and its staff! Skye Moody & GM Ford
My husband and I have lived here for a year and are only moving because of a job in Portland. We wish we could stay though. The price is a steal for the up-and-coming SLU location and amenities that come with the building. I doubt that you'll find anywhere else in Seattle with a large studio that includes a full-sized kitchen, walk-in closet and washer/dryer in unit for ~$900/mo. Plus, the rooftop deck has an awesome view, the community room is easy to rent out (and free) and on-street zoned parking in generally plentiful. I really have no complaints. We haven't had any problems with the management and our repair requests have all been addressed within 48 hours. Added bonus: the building is so well insulated that we never had to turn our heat on all winter which made our electric bill very affordable.
