Stonewood Apartment homes, once known as Somerset Apartments when I moved in. One of the worst places to live. When I moved here 2 and a half years ago, I would have had no problems giving it 5 stars. However, once it came time to having things fixed, nothing ever got done. They fired a very respective, hard working woman who worked as maintenance and actually kept the complex clean because she didn't know anything about plumbing. Yet, none of the current maintenance knows Jack shit. We moved here because the location was close to the freeways, convenient to shopping areas, and a decent price for the complex. New management tool over at the end of 2014 and that's when everything went to shit. There has been 4 tenants move out in my building in the last 4 months because of the way they raise rent, there is only 8 units in my building. The rent goes up $200 every few months. What have we gotten done to the units? Nothing, they have put in fences and solar for the timers on sprinklers and outside lights. During the winter our water heater went out and they had maintenance come out 5 times to 'try' and fix it. So that meant cold showers and baths for my my one year old son and I. Have you tried washing dishes in cold water? There is no assigned parking spots so even though there is a two car per unit limit, most have more than that. I was having to walk at 4am to my car for work on the other side of three buildings. Most of the time with my son. My car was broken into because the security that 'patrols' the apartments at night only comes around once, this was after they put up the gates. Yes, I have stayed up on multiple occasions, especially after my car was broken into to make sure they actually patrol. Two fires have been set last week, within one week, right behind my unit by idiot teenagers. At night, especially during the holiday weekends, I have to make multiple calls for noise disturbance by kids drinking, breaking glass, and skateboarding at the margarita community park. I have yelled at tenants and their drunken guests for screaming and arguing at 12 midnight and waking my son. So if you are looking for a place to enjoy the temecula statistics of a wonderful community, this is not the place. I hope this was helpful information for your decision to choosing your new home. Have a wonderful day!
This is without a doubt the worst apartment i've ever lived in. Mainly because the heater did NOT work at all during the winter months. My roomates and i almost froze on cold days. Maintenance never fixed it. After freezing, summer came. The window unit they installed is broken and is too small to cool the apartment. As i'm writing this i'm sweating because the apartment is almost 90 degrees inside. The maintenance man told my sister to spray herself in the face with a spray bottle to keep cool. No joke. We have asked over and over and they simple refuse to respond to our request for a new larger window unit. The owners are greedy and selfish. I highly recommend to not move into these apartments.
I stayed more then 2 years at this place and my stay was very good. The staff specially over there are very helpful and supportive. Its conveniently located with a very good surrounding places like Target Center, CVS, VONs etc. with a walk-able distance. I am relocating to other state for a new Job and I would miss this place. Really loved it !!:)
Somerset Apartments must have been the worst place to live in from what I can imagine from previous reviews. Somerset Apartments renamed as Stonewood Apartment Homes has to be one of the best places I have lived. everyone seems pretty cool no problems. its the perfect place to live if you are trying to get on your feet. Most places are walking distance like Target, CVS, VONS and a more... even a 24hr Fitness for y'all trying to get swole. I give this place 5 stars this place is GREAT.
