I now have another maintenance problem and it is my central air. I pay almost 900.00 a month to stay here and since my son has asthma and has been to my job three times which I work in an emergency room. One of the ladies by the name of Colleen told until its 85 degrees outside that it is not considered an emergency but he has ASTHMA and it has been triggering all week. I am telling you that if you dont have to stay here it would save you so much time and money if you NEVER rent from these slum lords. They are strictly about getting their MONEY!!! You wait forever for your work orders to be fulfilled. I just got a call for my October 2014 work orders to be fulfilled within the last two weeks. I just told them to forget it because if I am not a priority within the last 6 months then never mind if the things that I feel need to be fixed and just keep collecting my money. There apartments are even that clean looking and you will be treated like crap. I can not wait to move from this place it is the worst place ever. I would rather stay in the PROJECTS then here ANYDAY!!!!
I can't wait to move out. I've been counting down the days since I moved in this past year. It took a month and a half to get my mailbox key. 5 months into my stay I get a call from maintenance that they still have a call open to get me a mailbox key. Seriously! It took you that long to find the request and call me back. I'm actually scared to use my oven. It does not consistently light. Both my parents and grandparents have tried it as well, they have both had gas appliances before, and deemed it as unsafe. I have called the office multiple times and told them I'm scared to use it and the troubles I'm having. They have sent out maintenance to look at it, always when I'm not here, and I get a note left by them that they got it to light after 30 seconds at 140 degrees. I immediately went to try it and timed how long it took to light. After 2 minutes of not lighting at 140 I could smell the gas, turned the oven off and opened all the windows. I also came home one day to something that smelled like new paint. I checked all my rooms eventually finding the smell in my bathroom. I called the office asking if maintenance was in my apartment because I was not notified. They said they would check with maintenance and call me back. They never called. I stopped into the office two days later and they said they would have to check with maintenance, but they didn't have anything on their list (which by the way is a yellow legal pad, great records keeping). So I still do not know, and they haven't been able to tell me, if someone was in my apartment and if so who it was. At any given point, one of the doors is not locked and they boast a secure environment. There are kids that run rampant all over the building. I feel sorry for people who live next to the lobby and have to hear the soccer balls being kicked around. Speaking of the lobby there are always beer cans in the fountain that doesn't work. They never plow or salt the parking areas. I can't tell you how many people have gotten stuck or how many times I have slid both in my car and walking. The management is seriously a joke, you can't get any information or anything done. They over-promise and under deliver. They have to offer free heat and "move in specials" because they do such a terrible job of maintaining and satisfying their customers and they want to move out before their year lease is even close to being up. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Just, where do I start? The water's been off more times than I can count due to random leaks or floods appearing across the Towers. The laundry costs about 3.20 total a load, although the loads are decently small and some of them don't even work and waste your money. In the lease they said we would get an ice tray, but got no such thing. In fact, quite a few things were damaged when we moved in, even cigarette burns in the carpet. They said they'd come repair tiles that had caved in due to water damage but it's been over 7 months and no one even came by.. And NOW there's new management which raises our rent by about 80 dollars from the agreed amount and arguably breaks the contract, but we're not allowed to leave unless we want to pay the rest of the lease's rent (Over a thousand dollars total). This has to be illegal, if not.. it should be. When our lease is up we're going to happily pack our bags. There's no way we're coming back, I suggest you don't even waste your time.
My stay at the towers for 2 years was nice, honestly I miss that place. They go through a lot of office people, but most of the staff are friendly or at least not rude. The price and location is great. A few minor updates would be great, but also would raise the rent. I've seen single people stay there as well as families up to 5, the children have great outdoor spaces to play outdoors. I would consider moving back
This place is a joke. Repeated calls for maintenance that just ended in patched or "shoddy" work that always ended up failing or breaking again, Topping it off, they go under new management and we get a bill one day that says our current rent will be honored, then a bill the next day that is 100$ more than I used to pay. Who the hell has to pay 60$ for water in an apartment? Really, I'm saving you all the trouble now, just find somewhere else to go.
