This is my 6th yr here. I could complain about maintenance until my heart's content, as there are challenges there. But I think no matter where you live, there will be challenges. It can be very frustrating, but the current manager Kenny is very proactive in getting the maintenance crew to do what needs to be done. The buildings are older and you can hear people upstairs. But hello! If you lived in a two story new home you would hear your kids upstairs as well. It is what it is. It's an apartment complex and your neighbors are above you beside and under you. Some people are nasty and do not clean up after their dogs, but if you report them they will take $25 off your rent and charge those not cleaning up. Thus encouraging those dirty people to clean up after their pets. They can't walk behind everyone with a dog to ensure they are doing their job as a pet owner but they can charge their nasty asses. The new state of the art gym is awesome...don't use it, but seen it..: ) it's twice the size it was with all new equipment and more than they had before. They're remodeling the pools and added new chairs and tables. They've screened in all patios, painted the entire complex and completely redone the landscaping. It looks better and still has improvements to be made but Rome wasn't built in a day. Take it or leave it. This place has been full to capacity for awhile now where there were numerous empty apts before. So their doing something right. I didn't have neighbors for nearly 3 years before it was sold. Yes, it costs more but a lot of work has gone into this place to improve it and it wasn't free. It's quiet for the most part and all neighbors aren't so bad and if they are, can you really blame the complex for people not t being friendly? I read about the person getting their fee kept after a tenant decided to stay, but they probably signed an agreement stating that could happen. It's unfortunate but it can happen. I'd probably be mad if it happened to me too, but if I signed agreeing that I'd take that chance, I'd simply have to deal with it. And it would suck. Overall, it's not a bad place to live. Life is not a bowl of peaches and living in any complex isn't either. Other than maintenance needing a little "remodeling", it's a nice place to live. And again, current manager is very attentive and will follow up with you if you have a reoccurring issue that isn't getting resolved. Nothing is perfect and there can be hiccups, but that's life as a whole....., 6th yr here.

BEWARE! I was accepted by Captiva Club and even had a move-in date set. I gave notice to my landlord and figured I just found a great new place! Little did I know, a week later I would get a call from Captiva Club telling me the apartment is no longer available. The reason?- the tenant wanted to renew their lease, and that there were no other units available that were offered to me. Even to my displeasure of not being able to move in, I understand things change. However, when I learned they would not be giving me all my money back, I quickly learned about Captiva Club’s dishonest business practices and how callous of an organization they actually are. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE! I would never have applied to the apartment if they didn't have an opening and if I was not led on by false pretenses. How many OTHER people are they telling this same story to, and stealing the application fees? Captiva Club clearly does not care of about ethics, as they temporarily made me homeless. The right thing should be done- reimburse me the money I have paid to Captiva Club.
I just moved into this apartment community, and here just a little over a week, I'm quite impressed. My unit was totally refurbished and the fixtures, counter-tops, and floors are great! I had two maintenance issues to report from my walk-in, and they were fixed that day. Dealing with the staff has been great, and they are warm and very receptive to any needs or questions. One of the main reasons I moved here was for the gym, which is a truly amazing clean, modern, and up-kept facility. The pool areas are also kept very clean. Amidst the negative reviews, I moved in with an open mind, and I have to say so far it has been a great experience and I really enjoy living here.
The maintenance at this apartment complex is a comedy. Not the friendliest neighbors. As far as pets, mostly large breed dogs that include many pit bulls and pit bull mixed breeds. However, the office staff is very hospitable and helpful.
