After the walk through on my apartment at the end of my lease was done, signed off, and approved by one of the office staff (who was apparently not authorized to perform walk throughs) they tacked on extra charges without my knowledge! They charged me for an unclean cabinet under the kitchen sink which was water damaged when maintenance failed to solve a sink issue quickly enough (I was told to just let the sink run hot water all night til someone came in in the morning. ) Also they charged me for leaving things in the kitchen and bathroom which included some garbage bags and toilet paper for people's use! Along with that apparently the blinds were damaged, which is odd being that I didn't notice after A YEAR of living there. (there was no damage.) If you choose to live here, be prepared to be financially raped when it comes to getting your deposit back. Also, there is no gym. Just a miniscule room with a stationary bike, a treadmill, and a bowflex thing. It was locked before normal hours half the time anyway! What a joke... another thing, more often than not, the drugged out neighbors would be screeching at each other from midnight til sunrise out in the courtyard!
We just recently moved in and so far has been a pleasant place. My wife and I had to find a place fairly quick due to our house we were renting got sold. The staff was very helpful and getting us in quickly. One of our neighbors was very helpful and offered to help us unload our uhaul.
Terrible apartments- RUN! 3 Biggest Problems: 1.Noise. The combination of loud neighbors and bad insulation means you can hear everything that is going on throughout the entire building. 2. Saftey. Obviously not in the safest part of town, I understand. But when the cops are showing up on a nightly basis, it does raise some questions. 3. All the little things: lots of roaches, swimming pool was broken the whole time, no insulation: increased utilities by $50/month, drunk people pounding on your door (or your neighbors door) at all hours of the night, and lots more. The only bright spot was the management: they were fair, pleasant, and helpful. But that didn't stop us from bouncing the moment our 5 month lease was up.
There was a terrible odor and they wouldn't move my apartment. Plus neighbors were terrible.
This is my third time living here over the past 30 years. Not bad for what it is and for the money. For a single guy it's OK and the neighborhood is not bad. It's close to shopping and restaurants -- just a mile from the Big-I. This is an old complex, fairly well-maintained for it's age. There are a lot of younger people living here, and sometimes it can get loud -- but it's an apartment complex, what do you expect. My caveat is this - If you are a day-sleeper, or are just home during the day, you might want to reconsider this place. The maintenance team (who do a great job) are out for what feels like hours with very loud leaf-blowers and other equipment.
