I have been at Champions at Norwood for over a year. I just renewed my lease in Dec. I have a first floor apartment with an attached garage. It is so nice to drive in and then walk right into my apartment. The girls in the office are really nice and friendly. I have had to call the maintenance line a few times with quick response. Those guys are very nice also and do a good job. The grounds are beautiful in the spring and summer with flowers blooming and a fountain at the entrance. My one bedroom apt is very spacious. My grandchildren love the pool. I am also very fortunate to have nice quiet neighbors. I have been very happy here.
Champions at Norwood is horrible. The management team doesn't ever seem like they care about anything. Last year around this time my vehicle got broken in to. I came to find out that many people in the complex had the same problem. When I told the office about it they told me to make sure I keep everything locked. Good advice, except the thieves were breaking windows. They say they hired a private security company to watch the property. I have seen them once! The cheap apartment complex won't even turn on the parking lot lights because it is apparently to expensive. I wouldn't recommend living here to anyone. EVER.
By far the nicest complex I've lived in. I live in a two bedroom on the third floor which makes it nicer because we have vaulted ceilings. I've seen a lot of complaints on thin walls, but I live next to really quiet and friendly people so that's no problem for me. The foundation is a touch older but it's still the most spacious and beautiful apartment I have yet to live in. As far as the staff goes, they are very friendly and they have helped me any time I have needed assistamce. Great place to live.
It wasn't all bad... in fact this is probably one of the best places to look into renting in Colorado springs. we never had surprise charges or anything crazy... I enjoyed the double lock on my door. I enjoyed never seeing a bug in my home. I really liked the space and how bright my apartment was. My unit needed an upgrade but it was still really pretty in my opinion. I felt like I was in a small house. Bethany is a really nice girl she was always on top of it any time I needed anything she was professional and had an answer. however, looks can be deceiving you have to make a really decent amount of money the rent is really expensive! we knew this when we signed the lease the issue is broken amenities that you pay for. as nice as the pool is, it is closed a lot and the hot tub was always broke. our a.c. was out all summer and it took 7 tries to get it to work. our main problem was neighbors. we were told that they care about who moves in that they like to keep a "good" clientele but that wasn't true. groups of kids are always moving in and then getting evicted shortly after. we had a very frightening instance one late night when gun shots went off directly below my unit. I watched the police pick up the shells through a window. =0 apparently they blamed an angry resident and said it was this tenants friends (not sure if that's true) I will say that it made me a little more skeptical at night but I didn't reel unsafe. I do wonder though where our "security" was for our complex. beware your showers and when your washing dishes as the hot water heater is unpredictable... at least in our place it was. any apartment you rent will have its own set of general problems some of which management cannot control like dog poop everywhere but at $1,400 a month plus... I expected better.
Nice place to live, year round pool, grounds are well kept. Now for the downside, No parking, garage is an extra 150.00, which I don't have, 4 days late and its 50.00 late fee, and 10.00 every day after. You will receive a 3 day notice to pay, then charged 250.00 in legal fees even if you let them know you are waiting on a check and communicate with them. They evict people, it appears to be a friendly atmosphere, but it is a business and they do NOT work with you at all. Do Not sign a lease here unless you are a hundred percent sure you will not lose your job, or if you own a business, put a lot of money away for rent just in case. Lesson learned for me, my rent was 1,450.00, now it will be at least 1800.00 for being 10 days late. Insanity. I will never rent from another apartment complex again, and I give this one all thumbs down.
