i am currently living here, and stuck in a lease. the office management is AWFUL. i was lied to when i spoke to 2 different people about my money situation, they told me a flat rate fee 3-4 different occasions before i signed anything. i ended up not only getting a rent bill, but also a 100.00 water/trash bill. it is FILTHY, they ALWAYS shut the water off for the entire day, toilets never run right, the air conditioning i was told is central, yet it cant even be felt in the room that the unit is in. i was placed next door to people that have multiple cats where i can smell the stench of dirty cat litter every single day. the 4th of july was the absolute worst, i was sick to my STOMACH and could hardly move, i was FORCED to flee my apartment because they had speakers around the pool, and had a community party with music so loud, that i couldnt rest. i am beyong disgusted, and i dont think i could hate anyone enough to recommend this hell hole. good luck
BEDBUGS, ROACHES, AWFUL MANAGEMENT!!!! I lived there for the worst 3 months of my life. My apartment was "newly renovated" and filled with roaches!!! I didn't notice them until I was unpacking and I noticed one running across my wall, I thought I was seeing things at first. That night I felt some stinging on my skin I woke up and found bed bugs (all my furniture was brand new). I later found out I was not the only one who had that problem. The next day I went to talk to the lady at the leasing office and she informed me that it was impossible that I had bed bugs and roaches because my apartment was newly renovated. I kept complaining and finally she said she would get the exterminaters and they never came. The fourth time I asked her about it and threatened to move she told me that they couldn't gain access to my apartment because they didn't have a key. Then she went on to yell at me as if it was my fault that they gave me the only copy of the key they had to the apartment. I bug bombed the apartment 7 times and it did not help, they sent an exterminator who told me that I was the 6th home with the same issue and that they needed to spray every apartment to get rid of the bugs or they would be back. A week later they were back. At this point my complaining was annoying the LEASING DEVIL and she called animal services on me saying that I left a dog abandoned in my apartment for a week, when they came over I showed them pictures of me with the dog 400 miles away on a camping trip which happened to be on the same weekend she claimed I left the dog there, since the pictures were time stamped and one of the guys recognized the background they apologized and left when I went to explain why they were there she told me I was a liar and just because I pulled one on the cops I couldn't pull one over on her! Later that week my car got broken into and when I went to inform her of it (after talking to the cops) she started yelling at me and told me that I should just go and kill myself because it would make her job so much easier. By the way I had another tenant hear her say that to me and was offended and went off on her then she threatened to call the cops because she felt threatened. In the end I finally gave up and just moved out and broke my lease. Please anyone if you want to move somewhere avoid this hell hole they are very shady and you will regret it.
I am a current tenant. Beware, the apartment that they show you is a COMPLETE MISREPRESENTATION! The 1 BR apartment that was shown was beautiful. It looked extremely clean, very well kept, well lit, and modern. I was told that I could not see the apartment that I would be moving into because the previous tenants "had not cleaned up and it was being fixed up" at the time. The apartment is quite old. There is absolutely no lighting fixtures in the living room, the ceiling fan is in the dining room (least used area of the apartment for a single tenant) and the bedroom light fixture is a single wall light by the door. It provides minimal light. All of the cabinets are super old and sketchy. The carpet was supposedly cleaned by a professional, yet it had crunchy spots when walking through it when I first moved in. As others have said, the elevators rarely work. It has worked less than half of the time I've lived here (not an exaggeration at all). The kids are always just hanging out around the property leaving trash and making a lot of unnecessary noise. The overall communication upon moving in was less than helpful. I had to go ask numerous questions that should've been included in the obvious move-in details. If you are not on the first floor, beware that couches do NOT fit into the elevator so you will have to pack it up the small stairwell. I live on the 4th floor and was PROMISED that everything that I needed to move in would "Definitely fit into the elevators" however she failed to mention that the elevators are tiny and that excludes couches. I've had mass confusion about the price of my own rent. 3 different people all disagree with the interpretation of the rent price in the lease. Note, if they try to move you into a 4th floor apartment with a fireplace, don't think that it is a positive aspect. The "fireplace" really just takes up valuable space in the living room without adding any qualities. The only positive of this company is that they allow bigger dogs (the ONLY reason I ended up having to settle for the apartment even though it was way less appealing than originally depicted). If you can find ANYWHERE else to live, I suggest trying to avoid this property.
it is a beautiful place , but so much bad service and management
I am a current tenant... These apartments are managed by a company named AMC. The building is old; appropriate updates to the hvac/ plumbing have NOT been done. The property manager "Jenny V" is rude at best; has referred to some tenants as "these people" on a number of occasions. She was caught making "errors in arithmetic" in calculating rent + utilities, attempting to charge more than due. She often leaves the office during business hours, specifically near the beginning of the month- this making it difficult to pay rent in person. They charge a 3% fee for processing payments via debit/credit. She has bragged about how many of "these people" she has evicted recently (she took this position in Oct '09). They do run specials on rent, but will not stick to those rates, finding various reasons why tenants should pay more. UTILITIES ARE OUT OF CONTROL! AMC bills for everything except electric via excel- a bill for a small two bedroom approx $170+rent+electric= ridiculous. They claim it is because of unfair billing of City of Aurora- however it has been shown that AMC profits over cost (i.e. charging 30 per month for mandatory basic cable which comcast confirms is provided to the building at a price less than the advertised 14 per month). There are infestations of bed bugs and roaches- management ignores complaints, much the same way they ignore maintainance requests. When they have done extermination, it has been on single units at one time- thus moving the bugs from one unit to another. There is alot of noise/ crime in the parking lots, especially in summer (i.e. cars vandalized etc) The property is very very dirty; trash and bottles are everywhere. The elevators are almost always broken, even when they are not, there are wires and such hanging loose. There has been an ongoing problem with homeless people sleeping and URINATING in the elevators. There are a number of people who go door to door, jiggling door knobs (presumably to see if there are units unlocked). The police/ems are on the property often. This is a BAD place to live- most housing projects are better managed!
