I've been here just over a year. I happily renewed for a year a couple of months ago. I love it here. It's inexpensive and close to a lot of great businesses, many within walking distance (or a short drive). I realize there's an expiration date to the complex, but I hope it's years away. I will be here until then. Sure, it's old, but it's got character. The rooms are big, which I like. The rent is very reasonable, the staff is great, and the maintenance guys are quick. I've met several of my neighbors and they're very friendly and my dog has made several new friends too. I would definitely recommend this complex. The only complaint I have is that someday, I'll have to move. I hate moving.
Moved here with my fiance from The Village when they priced us out. I wish we would have skipped The Village and moved straight here. I didn't know about these apartments when I first moved to Dallas, but I was happy when I did find them. Pros: especially as more time goes on, these are the safest inexpensive apartments you'll find in the area as rental prices continue to increase. I can walk to the 7-11 down the street, bike to Kroger, Tom Thumb, and White Rock Lake, and I'm only in the car a few minutes to get to Lower Greenville Ave. or even downtown. Several bus stations and the DART train station are very close as well. The apartments are gated and have security patrol 2x/day I believe. This is NOT like the ghetto north of Northwest Highway/East of 75 (Melody Ln. area). Louise and Tiffany are good staff and are amenable to whatever questions you might have, both before and after you become a resident. The floor plans are nice and are more sq. ft per dollar than you would get elsewhere. Our bedroom also has a fan which is great for keeping down AC costs and was not an amenity in our Village apartment. Also, the showerheads are sized for normal-to-tall-sized people instead of children (cough The Village cough). I have at least introduced myself to many of the neighbors and everyone seems pretty relaxed. The leasing office has a gym open 24 hours by key code. The pools are not huge but are nice to jump in in the summer. Also, free COVERED parking. A lifesaver in the occasional hailstorm that seems to happen around here. Lots of people have pets here, which could be a pro or con depending on your feelings about them. Cons: I mean, what are you expecting for the price, a palace? The apartments are a little bit older than others in the area. The AC seems kind of loud when it cycles on. The laundromat washers are frequently out of order. The gym is not Lifetime Fitness, to say the least, but it works. Every Monday the landscapers clean up the grounds and pools. This is great, except I work at night so I'm trying to sleep while the leaf-blowers are a'blowin. I have heard the land will be redeveloped within a few years but we will be here until that happens because I really couldn't find a better apartment complex for close to the same price range. I really don't know what we'll do afterwards but we'll cross that bridge when we get there.
LOVE THE PLACE AND THE MANAGEMENT!!!!! Louise is a GREAT manager and very understanding! all these people are talking mess abt this place DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM!!!! as for the lady talking abt Tiffany being shady is completely wrong!!! i have known her for years and she is one of the best leasing agents out there very honest! they dont do a deposit its a admin fee which is NON refundable upon approval! yes they are tearing the place down EVENTUALLY but as of now there is a 24 hr turn over on maintenance and they are quick abt it! But as of now there is a COMPLETE hold on the apts!!! they have no intentions on tearing this side down just yet they are on COMPLETE hold! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!
Ghetto. There is a reason it's so cheap. And they will be bulldozing it soon. Be careful of what they say to you. Tiffany in specific is not an honest person. I went in there and put in a app because the condo I wanted was falling through and just need something cheap and temporary. She said to give her two checks. One $35 app fee and then go ahead and give her a deposit for $225 and that won't be cashed unless I sign the lease. Condo ended up working out and I let them know. Both checks were cashed immediately. Hoping it was a mistake I contacted the apartments and she said it was no mistake that she told me it would be cashed regardless. Shady people. Very shady. I am in Real Estate. Even leased apartments in my previous life and never handled business this way.
I lived in a 3:2 for two years (summer 2008-2010) with a roommate. We had a great experience with Amesbury Parc. The staff was always friendly; though there were a few snarky comments from one of the employees about us not picking up our packages. Sadly, we both worked during their office hours across town so we had to pick them up on weekends. We never had any bug problems; any bug we saw was a dead one. The office complied with every work request we put in promptly and with excellent service. When our AC broke, maintenance was waiting at our door when we got back from the office. The main pool was fairly clean most of the time. The gym was always open and the equipment worked. We had odd/random electrical flickers and outages; not sure what that was about. Never more than an hour though. Overall, great apartment. Would recommend.
