I live at Southern Towers right now, but don't have the money to move in another apartment yet. As that being said, when I do have my money together, we will move as fast as possible. All the bad reviews you read on here are true. The cold water at least 3-4 times a week, the air-conditioner/heater leaking constantly, which collects mold and is starting to rot away the wood floor, because all they do is snake it when i ask them to fix it and them knowing that it's a constant thing and it needs to be replaced, shower head in bathroom leeks constantly, even after they've came to replace it, lights blow out a lot (4 times) and fuses in the past two years, very dry in the apartment, hence no central air, there are roaches here as well, in some apartments more and others less, depending on which tenant cleans their apartment enough, it also smells from time to time, because there's not enough air flow in the apartments other peoples cooking and smells flow right in your apartment, electricity in the building constantly going off, they constantly shut off the water flow and we're unable to cook sometimes as well as 90% of the appliances/things in the apartment break or crap out after a couple weeks. If your looking for a cheap apartment, Southern Towers is one of the cheapest in the area, but also the worst.... This review will help everyone and is very truthful. I've talked to other residents that live in my building (The Sherwood Bldg.) and have a friend in the Monticello and Stanford as well and things are the same there too. So if you're looking for a cheap apartment building, don't rent out an apartment here, unless you want to be unhappy. My best bet to you is when your going to look at apartments after your appointment is to check the apartment very good and also when your leaving speak to 1 of the residents alone and ask him/her about the building/housing. Good luck
I have been here 9 months and I just cant take it anymore. This is by far the worst apartments I have ever lived in. I would not recommend this to anyone. The elevators are constantly out of order. You will come home and want to take a shower, but guess what? NO HOT WATER!! Never in my life have I seen such a place be run so poorly. This place is making 3 million a month per building and can't even make the place look like it. STAY AWAY WHILE YOU CAN. It might be cheap, but trust me, it is not worth the hassle...
It is already second day when heating system in "Monticello" building does not work. It is very cold in the apartments. No explanation,no apologize notices anywhere in the building. No promises when they are going to fix it. Professionalism of "Monticello" management leaves much to be desired. It is sorry to say,but if you have choice-do not move in "Southern Towers"!
this building is very bad. Roaches everywhere.and the office doesn't care i told them i saw a roach in their office while i was there and she react like its normal. the bus stop doesn't let any one sleep. the management are just lire they promised me to move me to other side of the building and it took them a month to make decision witches unacceptable because they want to charge me more money even its the same size apartment. stay away from these people there is many choices out there.
i rented a one bedroom as the leasing agent told me that i will be able to get two parking stickers for my personal and my wok vehicle, well i signed the lease and the drama start. first she refuse to give me two stickers, i accepted that and give her my personal car registration and get the sticker. later on she towed my vehicle; why because the security people should protect us- they didnt they ask the towing company to open my vehicle and take the sticker to tow it legally and that what happen.
