Nice overall aparments. Spacious layouts, two pools with hot tubs, free breakfast on weekends, Turkey giveaways during the holidays, summer BBQ's. The area is pretty quite even though being next to McCarren. A few times however they had kids in the pool area after midnight making a big ruckus.
I am going to respond to a trash posting of Lori, the office team and Redfield Ridge Apartments as, the wife and I had a totally different experience while we lived here for three years. We found Lori to be exceptional, she and her maintenance team were always very responsive to our questions and our needs. Even when the wife was verbally scolded for clogging up the garbage disposal by the maintenance guys! I told her the maintenance guys were right, so just get over it. She did, the maintenance guys got fresh baked cookies and all was good with the world after that. The office staff, exceptional too! Always responsive, we even had the pet sit our cats when we took a vacation. They were always pleasant and professional and worked well together. From what I saw during our time there, people in the complex only had good things to say about them. They knew the residents, took care of the older one, looking out for their needs, it was almost like family in the way they treated us. The ground were well kept and even if we had neighbors that cooked fish with smelly oil, we would still have loved the location. It is not as if Lori has any control over one cooks, just as she does not have any control over what one posts, good or bad! What is not to like? Spacious apartments with a fireplace, nice clubhouse, shopping right behind you, minutes to downtown, restaurants and a coffee shop and casino just around the corner. We did rent a washer and dryer during our stay, never had a problem with it. Also had no problem with our deposit, the check-out of the apartment was fair with what was found. I would move back to Reno in a heart beat, but the wife has family out where we now life in NJ. But if I had the opportunity to relocate back to Reno, Redfield Ridge is the place I would choose a second time! This review is unsolicited and the wife and I stand behind the people there. We had a great stay and would recommend this complex to anyone moving into the Reno area!
Lived here for a little over a year and wouldn't recommend it. The apartments are clean and relatively new looking. It's quiet outside and looks great when you first visit. First few months were somewhat pleasant but went downhill fast. People in the office are halfway decent as long as you don't talk to Laurie, she was rude and unhelpful every time we've had to deal with her. She rides around on her little golf cart with her power trip just looking to nag at people for the smallest of things. One of our cooking appliances didn't work for the first 3 months we lived here because they somehow kept losing our work order. Rented washer/dryer units from them for an extra $35/month... they were delivered with dirt and debris inside them still and it took many loads of laundry to eventually clean out... and we have to do really really small loads of laundry or the units won't even wash our clothes completely. Towards the end of our stay here another appliance stopped working and they took way longer than necessary to come up to our apartment and check on it and then we overheard the maintenance workers outside our apartment saying they were half ass fixing it hoping it'd slide by our inspection. Every time our Asian downstairs neighbors cook, around 5pm, our apartment stinks... and I mean STINKS of fish and nasty seasonings/cooking oil... they also leave shoes and equipment and a bike outside their door which is an eyesore to look at every time we leave our place. Oh... and pools they say? Yeah right... they didn't fix our pool until late July when it was supposed to open early May. They should have started work on that way earlier in the year to get it open for residents on time. The doorways to the apartments are very very dark even in the middle of the day... and they don't turn the overhead lights on until it's already dark outside. I wish they would leave the lights on 24/7. It's a safety issue in my opinion. They over water the lawns here like CRAZY. Often times more than once a night and it gets to the point where we have seen light poles fall over that were placed on grassy areas and the sidewalks flooded with water. Every time we take our dog out it's soggy to walk on, gets your shoes wet and our dog can actually drink pools of water on the grass. AREN'T WE IN A MAJOR DROUGHT? We sent in a complaint to the Truckee Meadows Water Authority because it is just obsessive. And last but not least don't expect to get any of your deposit back either. We were very thorough in our cleaning before leaving and didn't get a penny back.
This place is very clean and tidy. I love it and it's AWESOME. Why? Well I see that it's also big. Pools are very clean.
Lovely atmosphere and manager was very nice.
