Have been living in Westfield Villiage for almost a year. Overall it is a so so place. I am listing the following pros and cons for you to decide. Pros: Parking is not an issue for residents. At least when I get home from work around 6pm, I can always find a spot around my building. There are plenty trees around the community. I like that. When we first moved in, we requested a couple spots to be fixed and they did fix them. I am not sure what they will do next cause the apartments were sold to another company just recently. Cons: The Staff are only caring about collecting rent and not friendly at all. When we asked the unit we were interested, I was promised that the unit would get plenty sunshine. Turns out no sunshine at all. All my plants died in the first couple of months. Weird regulations. We have a balcony but bikes are not allowed to be put on balcony. What's wrong with putting a bike on balcony' Utility bill are very high, about $400 a month. They built the community in early 80s. That explained the rather shabby condition outside and inside. Inconvinient area. This community is rather remote from anywhere. There's a shopping center close by but NO GROCERY STORE available. Before we moved in, there's one but it closed. Now we have to drove to get even a can of soda. Safety is not that ideal. The place is lacking of proper lighting at night. Several car breaking events were reported recently. And two month ago, a murder happened right here. Washington Post and ABC all reported it. Noise is an issue. The commnunity is right next to Rt 28. I would suggest you to close windows all year long. The place is also next to Dullus airport so you have flights fly over your head every 15 mins. My neighbour has a big german shepard and boy, can he bark! Cannot wait to move out when my lease is due however I truly suspect how much deposit I can get back.
I moved here in Dec. 2009 and couldn't be happier. The staff has been very nice, no one bothers me and the apartment is the perfect size. If you are looking for a luxury apartment with all the amenities that implies, this isn't it, but the pool and gym are quite sufficient, the neighborhood is nice and the value is pretty decent considering the area we are in. The location is great and there are all the conveniences within walking distance.
After reading these bad reviews - I thought I'd be one that would write a good review (although I mark it as average because it's just your typcial apartment complex). I don't know of too many apartment complexes that doesn't have issues. It's kind of like having a job and thinking some place is always better. In some cases the grass is greener on the other side. In the case of Westfield Village, I think the grass is pretty much the same anywhere you go. I lived there for 8 months before buying my own home. My only complaint is my neighbor upstairs who happened to make a lot of noise. That's no fault of the leasing office. I just happened to have a loud neighbor - who, I will say, only made noise up until 9PM. The countertops in my apartment weren't the best and I made sure to inform them of that. However, before I moved in I got a brand new refrigerator and stove. Of the two maintenance calls I made, they were completed in a timely manner and really had nothing to do with something in the apartment being broken - it was a leak from the washer in the apartment above me. The staff in the front office have never been anything other than friendly and helpful. They make it a point to know your name and are willing to work with you when it's within their means to do so. Overall... for the price, it's a good deal. It's located conveniently to a grocery store and a few other restaurants. The airport isn't far away and to get to 66 is convenient, too. The Sully Station neighborhood is also nice. I would walk my dog through the neighborhood and everyone was super friendly. It's very suburban. I would recommend this apartment complex to others and have. In fact, he's going to be moving in this weekend.
