The apartments are decent and the people are pretty cool, especially about things like dogs and such. The A/C is not good, hardly more than a fan blowing around 65 degree air, it can't keep up with the thermal mass of brick walls that the buildings are built out of (there are no exposed brick walls in the appts btw), maintenance has checked it out twice but it's just the capacity of the A/C. The corporate bureaucracy that operates the complex is such a pita. The on-site managers are generally nice and accommodating, but for example once I tried to send rent 15 days early, and because I have a family and see random charges for things like iPhone games or whatever else, the payment returned "insufficient funds" by 5 bucks. Instead of seeing that I tried to pay early and let me try again, they charge me $20 bucks plus $10 handling fee and say that I have to send a cashiers check to the Denver office within 48 hours or face more charges and possibly court... Talk about totally unnecessary stress. I guess you get bureaucratic idiocy at any corporate apartment complex, so it is what it is. It's fair to say they don't nit pick about little rules or bother too much in that regard. Recommend it? If you can't find a better option. They do have some more affordable apartments than other places. Would recommend a shorter lease term at least.
The maintenance people stole things from my apartment. When I explained the issue to management I was told they were very sorry, but they could not help me. The building pipes and plumbing broke often. My apartment was flooded 4 times in the two years I lived there. The heat was shut off by the complex due to issues with the boiler. The hot tub was broken at least once a week. They charged me even though my dog is a service dog. I did not know they could not do that, and when I found out and asked for reimbursement I was told to leave a message and someone would get back to me. They came in to repair my floor because they thought I was letting water leak from my apartment. They slopped quickcrete (spelling? it is a fast set concrete) and placed the laminate back on the floor. The product oozed out around the edges. It turned out it was another leak in the apartment. Bugs of all kinds (ants, cockroaches, and other bugs that I did not know). I constantly had to have the place sprayed (we keep all cereals and loose food in plastic to make sure that we are not the cause of bugs). The water is warm (never cold for drinking) and very cloudy. I had to buy water filters. My upstairs neighbor played drums from 11pm-1am and after asking him to please not play so late as I have a young son trying to sleep. He was cordial, but did not change. So I asked customer service to assist. They told the guy that I had called and he chewed me out. Overall it was a very distressing experience. They never offered any form of reimbursement for troubles that their faulty equipment caused. (The times that the apartment flooded I spent hours cleaning dishes, replacing food products, cleaning clothes, and purses.) It is cheaper than other places per square foot, and that makes it a "good" price. It simply was more expensive in other ways than that price made it worth. Thanks for reading my thoughts, and best of luck in your search for an apartment or house.
I have lived here since December and am a big fan of the complex. The property is very clean with lots of open space. One of the major reasons I was drawn to Meadow Creek was due to the buildings not being on top of each other like in newer complexes. Apartments are spacious and updated. The maintenance staff is extremely reliable and quick to fix issues. One of the best parts about the complex is how quiet it is - all residents are respectful and the no smoking policy helps!
I have been living at Meadow Creek Apartments for last 2 years and it has been simply the best apartment complex I have ever lived in. The amenities are excellent, the staff at meadow creek is very friendly and nice. The maintenance personal are also friendly and they respond very quickly. If anything break in the apartment or something needs servicing I can simply make a service request and maintenance person comes at said time and fixes things. The location of Apartment in Gunbarrel is also excellent, it close to many businesses and hence if you work nearby it's very convenient.
I'm a professional living in Boulder part-time and got a studio apartment at Meadow Creek to have a home away from home. Overall I think it's a good place to live, and it definitely meets my current needs. Atmosphere: It's not a new complex, but well-kept. the grounds are cared for, I have a mountain view and access to the pool/hot tub. My apartment is not fancy, and as a studio has no w/d or dishwasher, but everything is functional, clean, and updated. My dog is at home with my husband but this is a very dog-friendly community, with abundant grassy areas complete with dog pick-up bags and garbage bins. Not to mention lots of nearby trails and lakes. Apartment living: I expect in any apartment building to have a little too much knowledge about what my neighbors are up to. I can hear my downstairs neighbor sneeze, I can hear my upstairs neighbors' dogs get excited when they come home...but I do expect this, and in general my neighbors are all respectful; I don't hear blaring music or TV, it doesn't sound like anyone is sumo wrestling...it's just standard thumps and bumps, depending what room I'm in. Along with that, I do feel that the thermal situation in my apartment 'coasts' with what's going on around me, more than my own thermostat input. Mostly I'm comfortable. On the ground level I do feel like I can sense the cold creeping in via the foundation...mostly just direct contact with my sock feet. Once I cooked more than usual and it got ridiculously hot, but the AC has not been turned on for the season yet. Mostly: my water is hot when I need it hot, I can hang out undisturbed by the people nearby, I enjoy my views and my access to grocery stores and shops and bus, the grounds are cared for, and every service call I've put in has been responded to promptly and thoroughly. The workout room is respectable...not a full 24-hour fitness but also clean and functional. The cost is not as cheap as my home town but was pretty reasonable for Boulder and the access I wanted to have here. So far all the staff I've encountered have been very nice, personable, and helpful. The online interface makes paying rent easy (and my utilities are rolled into that), as well as making service requests and so forth. The area and the complex itself feel safe. I
