NO ONE SHOULD EVER MOVE HERE! My boyfriend and I moved into Hilliard Station in September of 2014 and ever since we moved in we seen many issues and have had many problems! The staff is very rude and un-educated, we have had neighbors vandalize our cars, people parking in our assigned parking spot, neighbors getting their apartment broken into and having their valuables stolen, neighbors getting arrested, neighbors vandalizing our front door and kicking our door at all hours of the night, and the worst part of everything, we got BED BUGS from our neighbors! I was upset about the vandalizing our cars and kicking our doors but the bed bugs have really topped it all off! I cannot believe that they have not done a treatment on our apartment! They told us that we brought them in because of the age of the bugs! That's sooooo immature and stupid to say something like that because we didn't have them when we moved in and all of our neighbors have them! We notified them in January that we had them, and it states in our lease that if we notify you as soon as we see them, that they will reduce the cost of the treatment. We also told them that our window in our living room comes open while we are both at work and when we get home our window is down and our apartment is freezing!!! The lady in the office told us that we could get our own exterminator and as long as the bed bugs are gone and we will be fine. So we hired our own exterminator to come out and we paid for it to be done. Now they state that if we do not pay $800 for the treatment then we will get evicted, and that they will not fix our window until the bed bugs are gone!!! We are not paying $800 for something that we did not cause! We refuse to pay this amount because EVERYONE has them! If we were the only apartment that had them then yes that makes sense, but if everyone had them and then we got them, clearly they gave them to us! If it was such a big deal to pay the $800 and go through with their company, why didn't they tell us back in January when we showed the bugs to them and they would reduce the cost of the treatment for us. We hired our own exterminator to come out and soak our apartment in bed bug spray. The bed bugs keep coming back through the heating vents and through the smoke detectors. You cant just treat one apartment, you have to treat them all to get rid of them! My boyfriend and I have been living out of trash bags because we were told to put our clothes in trash bags and we have also been sleeping in the living room on a blow up air mattress. This is NOT a livable environment so we have contacted the health department! Many of our neighbors are breaking their lease or getting the treatment done and paying that ridiculous amount! They will tell you when you call that they will give you $1,000 toward your rent or on a gift card if you sign a lease with them, trust me IT IS NOT WORTH IT! I would NEVER recommend this complex to anyone! Don't move here unless you want to be treated like a child, freezing, and have BED BUGS!
This place is ridiculous. After looking into renting from them and looking at the "remodeled" apartments, I will be going elsewhere. The new painting of everything in the complex was done sub-par and is already coming off on many surfaces because it is a latex paint. The amount of speedbumps is atrocious(save all your extra money for a new suspension on your vehicle). Good luck having any family over as parking is horrible, not to mention if you do have family or friends over, they won't be getting in due to a gate system that calls your phone and requires you to press a number to open the gate (hope you don't get any other calls). Starting rent is $795.00 a month for 844sqft which is appalling since I have found larger units close by that are cheaper and nicer. In the end, RENTER BEWARE....better yet....RUN AWAY!!!!!!!
Where to start... I suppose the things that actually cost money. I've had two packages stolen off my doorstep within hours in broad daylight, both valued at over $200, and a third package valued at $60. My rent is going up by 11.5% because of the new management change. They are replacing the circa 1960 appliances with new stainless steel ones, but in order for me to receive said appliances I would need to move to a different unit. This doesn't fix the AC unit, which has gone out four times this summer, and constantly fails to kick on and instead will make a weird noise to accompany the weird smell and consume your electricity. Speaking of which, the electricity costs me on average the same amount as the previous place I lived. Except the previous place was two stories with a full basement and four bedroom. The parking here is atrocious. It wasn't the worst thing ever before they rebranded, but now they have no assigned parking due to a few parking spots being taken up by metal gaylords used for their construction being left there for months while they work on other areas. This allows the douchebags near me to invite over their friends and have them park in my spot because they know I can't do anything about it. The roads are barely big enough for two cars. To make matters worse, my friend got towed (and illegally overcharged for said towing) when he parked "not compliant with apartment standards." The roads are in terrible condition and overly small with atrocious speed bumps. They seem to have half-assed tried to remedy this but I doubt it will last long. There was a person shot and killed here last year. There are fights at least once a month in the back rows. In all fairness he came from a different apartment complex and ran here trying to escape the police. The one pool was closed within weeks. The other pool is cram packed every day, all hours. It also wasn't open during the time frame they told me when I moved in. About half the people I have met are dicks, most people try and stick to themselves, and a small few were friendly.
