stay away from this place!!!! everything was fine until my lease was up. They wanted to raise my rent 200 dollars. They then charged me 800.00 when my lease was up and did not want to stay. horrible experience!!!!!!!!!! stay away there are cheeper places that are better.
So far so good....I am new to River Oaks, and am very pleased! I really like the office and maintenance staff. They are all very friendly and helpful. My apartment is just right for me and I love the location. I would recommend River Oaks to my family and friends.
My husband and I have been living here for almost a year now, and HATE IT! It was ok to begin with but over time it just kept going down hill. We have a 1/1b, and pay waaayy to much for the quality. We pay close to $1000 just for rent, cable, internet, water, gas, electricity, and garbage. I don't even know where to start. this past summer we when it was almost 100 degree outside our air conditioner broke. I called the office at 10a.m. to have them come and fix it. Well I got home around 6 that afternoon to find NO ONE came to fix it. So I called the office again, they told me that it was past 5:00 and that no one was there that could fix it till the next day. It was 91 degrees in our apartment!!!! So needless to say we had to get a hotel which they wouldn't reimburse us for..keep in mind it was there fault for not coming to fix it when I called earlier that morning!! Lets see..when you first move in the ladies seem sooo nice and welcoming, and you think wow this place has standard. WRONG! They are money hungry liars! Don't let them fool you! I went to pay our rent one day and CVS forgot to put $.50 on the money order so I asked Hope if it was ok to wait till next month and add it on which she agreed with. I mean really it was only 50 cents. Well for 2 weeks straight we kept getting notices saying we needed to pay 50 cents or we would be charged 50 DOLLARS for a late fee. 50 freaking cents!! I'll just say that my husband took care of that one. Lets get to the quality of the apartments. When we first moved in my husband SLICED his foot open on the 30 nails on our balcony that were sticking 2 inches out. The paint is all chipped and dingy looking on the balcony. The blinds on the window are suppose to be white but are this disgusting off white/blow color. You can see outside when looking at the front and back door which means cold air or hot air get in and out. which in turn means a VERY high ELECTRICITY bill! Our first 2 were close to $200. The bathrooms are so freakin tiny, and the water smells and tastes absolutely horrible like rotten eggs. Our refrigerator leeks this nasty yellow liquid. The cabinets and dishwasher are soo outdated. Oh also my husbands bike (DUCATI) was knocked over. soda poured on it, and had caution cones stuffed in the exhaust pipes. Called the front office and nothing was done about it. In a nut shell they are old, cheep looking, and the grounds are nothing special. , People.. I could keep going on and on. ALL IN ALL THIS PLACE IS OVER PRICED FOR WHAT YOU GET AND WHO YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH!!
Never, ever, under any circumstance, move into these apartments!!!! They are professional scam artists in my opinion. When my husband and I moved in the carpets were in horrible condition. We moved out after only 3 months, and they tried to charge us over 1000 dollars to replace the carpet for our one bedroom tiny apartment. Who knows, the carpets could have been 5 years old when we moved in! Seems like we were the unlucky tenets to be chosen to pay the fee for the carpet replacement that was desperatly needed far before my husband and I ever moved in. This fiasco was such an inconvenience, which involved lawyers, before River Oak apartments finally admitted they were wrong and withdrew the bill. We are extremely dissatisfied tenets to say the least. Please, avoid this complex at all costs!
