The fire alarms CONSTANTLY go off here. In the last 24 hours, they have gone off 3 times now. The office sends out a bi-weekly mass email but doesn't say ANYTHING about the huge interruption of our homes. The least they could do, is acknowledge and say they are looking into the issue. Also, the hallways and gym here are disgusting! Everything from food and drink spills to carpets that look as if they haven't been cleaned or changed since the building was built. This overpriced place really could use a deep cleaning or renovation and management who doesn't ignore huge issues like constant fire alarms. As soon as my lease is up, I'm out of here!
Let's start with location...near everything in the heart of NoHo, across from a major public transportation hub, and the perfect amount of quiet you may need in this mess called Los Angeles. Leasing office: When we were searching for apartments we had a great and lasting impression from Katie. Even though we were walk-ins, we set up an immediate appointment and tour. She kept an open communication with us the entire apartment shopping process. Super helpful. Super convenient. Now that we have been here for about 6 months, I can say the leasing office is still super helpful. They send out emails for quick updates and the awaited Wednesday food truck announcement. (who doesn't love a good food truck!) For the other complaints that say the management does not cover issues that seem to be pressing in their email. Just walk down and talk to the staff in the leasing office. Always welcoming and always trying to help out. Parking: A nice parking garage with the bonus of guest parking! The community: A great mix of all ages and everyone seems to be very respectful of their neighbors. The pool and hot tub are never too crowded. The gym may get a little cramped, but just adjust your gym time. There are some great times with no crowd **cough**around 1pm **cough** (excuse me). Need an hour to print stuff and surf the web. Boom! Office space with provided computer and printer. Also a nice little internet café where you can bring your computer or use one provided! And yes they have a little coffee machine in the main lobby you caffeine maniac. (complimentary!) Seriously though I can keep going. Did you write a new song for your sweet mix tape about to drop?! Book their sound studio! Wanna show off your sweet dance moves to your friends or choreograph your next flash mob thingy. Book that dance studio. Ok. Calm. down... You're still reading? Fine I'll give you the cons you want. Fire alarms. Read any GD review on a huge apartment building and wait. what. the same issue. Live with it. Move on. They aren't that bad. Ok. Serious one for you, but mainly me. This is an exclusive AT&T building. For a gamer like me it's what I like to call a "Wal-Mart" internet service. Cheap and fall aparty. Those of you who just stream Netflix and Read your bosses FWDs. It's fine. Also I hate the awesome view on my balcony. I named my balcony. It's Balcs. Overall, I wanted to write the review for you, apartment shopper, because I know it's hard to find the serious deets on that apartment building you just drove by and said, "Hey that place looks neat." (Also, not a writer so get past all the errors ya goof)
This has been the worst apartment I have ever lived at. Fire alarms go off every couple of weeks at all hours of the day. Yes, they have "renovated" apartments, but seriously who puts hardwood floors on the 3 and 4 floors. You can hear you neighbors talk, walk, and even use the bathroom! There is always trash littered in the stairwells, and you have to be extra cautious in the parking garage if you don't want to be road kill because people don't seem to slowdown when they go round the turns. I was nearly run over several times.
One of the most comfortable building to be, always clean. price might be a little high but it is worth it .
Pros: modern building, awesome pool, great gym, good sound/heat insulation. Cons: FIRE. ALARMS. I moved in mid-december, and fire alarms have gone off 6 times in 3 weeks, including 5 times in the middle of the night. The first time, we freaked out and our cats ran for their life under the couch. Last night, we rolled over in bed and just sighed (and would probably die if there was a real fire). Management says this is not an on-going problem, but fire department disagrees, saying, and I quote: "We are there all the time". And mostly for false alarms, with people smoking weed outside or pulling the alarms. Checking online, people were already complaining about that issue in 2008/2009. So unless this gets fixed, I wish I had known that before moving as it is becoming a deal breaker.
