Not that companies read their reviews (which they might want to) but it would be appreciated if you updated the pricing on your website as well as get a local number. The cost is way over what is shown on the website! Take the time and update your site. -Thank you Lindsay for the response. Have since checked and the prices are accurate.
Pros: the staff, very cordial and helpful! Washer and dryer in the unit, updated kitchen, dog park at complex. Quiet complex. Pet friendly. Very good location!!!! Cons: my building is across the car wash, loud noises from 7AM to late at night. Not enough storage, small closet in bedroom, no coat/storage closet. No central AC=very very very hot summers. Overall: quite happy with my experience, lived here over 6 months.
The customer service rep is ridiculously rude and untrained. Never expect good assistance from the office. She will actually tell you your rude, even when she evades your questions about the apartment you live in. Worst leasing office staff ever. Entitled and rude. The maintenance men are kind, but can only do as much as they are "allowed". But if you want something fixed right you'll probably have to have a guy come out two or three times till something actually changes. And very few residents clean up after their pets so the dog park smells like rotten cat box. Oh and if you ever wanna park make sure your home by 4, otherwise you can expect to carry your groceries, kids, ect for a good little walk in sub zero to hot and humid weather. Or you can pay for covered parking that no one abides by. I have never had such bad service from a front desk rep, didn't your boss teach you that you never argue with with customer?!?!
Overall I have not enjoyed living at Terra Vista. The office staff are OK, depends on the day. Some specific people I prefer over others, seeing as certain members of the staff are often very rude and condescending. The overall grounds again are just OK. Most of the lamps they have to light pathways at night are burnt out (and have been for awhile) therefore kinda defeat the purpose of having them. Most trees and bushes need a good trim, as they tend to block the pathways into my complex building. Noise is a big issue. I have a neighbor across from me who has music blasting from the time she wakes up until the time she goes to bed (usually around 3 a.m.). Keep in mind she is ACROSS the hall from me, our homes aren't connected and I still hear it (I don't know how the people above her even sleep). Also, if the people above me are just walking around it seems to be very loud, and even louder when they vacuum/ cook/ run the washer, etc. Of course that is not their fault, just wish the walls were thicker/ had better insulation. As for safety I do not think these complexes are very safe, so if that is important to you I wouldn't live here. My car (which was locked) got broken into in the community parking lot outside my building. My roommates brand new car was keyed, as well as a few of our neighbors. The maintenance staff are awesome, however. They are always quick to come repair anything in the apartment that breaks i.e. the garbage disposal often decides it doesn't want to work. Long story short I regret not doing more research before moving into Terra Vista, as you can see all of the terrible reviews when you google these apartments, and I would not recommend for any one to live here. I am counting down the days until my lease is up!
(11/17/2015 - SEE EDIT AT BOTTOM) I have a neighbor that moved in recently to the third floor above me who thinks everyone likes their graphic rap music by playing it loudly and proudly with their windows and balcony door open, complete with the vibrations of the bass coming through the building down into my chest on the first floor. I have reported this to the apartment complex and to the police multiple times. I have recorded this behavior on video in the middle of the night. After three weeks, nothing has been resolved. The last two weeks, I have noticed myself being tired at work and throughout the day. I would guess it is because I am not getting a very good sleep. This neighbor is causing anxiety and anger. This place seems to be going ghetto. If that is what this complex wants, fine. But, I suggest you stay away if you want peace and quiet. As some others have stated, these apartments are old, which is fine and I knew perfectly well about it, but the building does not provide much sound or vibration insulation for this kind of stupid behavior. That is where the Apartment Management should come in to make up for the shortfalls of being in an old building. So far, they have not come through, however. (I will update this if they do anything to resolve the issue) On other topics, however, they seem to do ok. I was a bit upset about the length of time it took for them to renovate the pool. As has been stated before, the weather played a role. But, there were days of high sunshine and warmth when I'd walk by and no work would be going on. When I report a problem through their service request system for issues in my apartment, they tend to respond within 24 hours, which to me is reasonable. The office staff is usually pretty nice, but definitely not too experienced. One day I was in the pool and my key fob had not worked for months, so I didn't bring it with me. Regardless of the fact I had been in the office multiple times about my key fob and for mail and whatnot, the office manager came out and accused me of being a non-resident in the pool because I could not produce my key fob. I returned to my apartment and took the broken key fob to them. I appreciate them verifying residency. But, that same day later, I saw a bunch of college kids in the pool area with glass containers, drinking and smoking weed - all of which are against apartment rules and smoking weed in public is against the law here. I never saw management come out to talk to them. Please be consistent, or one might think you are discriminating. I was a fat guy in the pool and oh, "how bad that would look for prospective renters when we are giving them the tour" is what I got out of that experience. I've had a few issues in my apartment, things breaking, etc...but they have always responded well and the service staff is friendly and knowledgeable. (11/17/2015 - EDIT) I am happy to say that, to the best of my knowledge, the complex has forced these individuals out. I have not heard anything from that apartment in over a month. I have not seen the lights on at night, etc...so my only conclusion is that they moved out. Thank You so much. These people were hoodlums, dangerous and only brought frustration others trying to live in peace. Everything else seems to be going fine. They respond quickly to service requests. I will say they need to do a better job of clearing out vehicles that people have left sitting in the parking lots for months on end (one has been sitting since I moved in). (Leaving your vehicle for longer than 3 days in the parking lot without moving it is a violation of lease.)
