We lived at Copper Crossing for about five years. The property was safe and well-maintained. The staff was professional, timely, and friendly. With every maintenance request, they responded quickly. For the first several years, they offered CARES teams that helped community and made us feel welcome. I would recommend Copper Crossing Apartments unreservedly. I also recommend Copper Crossing give their maintenance person named Ed a commendation/raise. Professional fellow who works hard and treats the residents with courtesy.
I really want to give a good review but I have to be honest...my bad experiences have far outweighed the good. I started in a 2 bedroom unit and I really liked the unit itself. No real complaints other than the fact that the floors and walls were super thin. The only real issue I ever had was with work orders. Took roughly over a month to get an issue resolved involving a fridge that went out and then started smelling horribly. Also, one of the maintenance guys broke a tool of mine and they said they would replace it but it has been about 5 months and still nothing. The staff are very friendly for the most part and it's pretty quiet unless you have bad neighbors. These apartments are priced very well if you are on a budget. However, the utility bill is a bit high in my opinion. So add roughly $100 for water,gas, and all the other fees and stuff. I recently switched into a 1 bedroom unit. This is where my nightmare began. The unit is poorly insulated, even after I put in a work order, so it's always really cold during the cold seasons. There are bugs! I've seen roaches, water bugs (you know those huge looking roaches), lots of spiders, ants, and even a lizard! I keep my place clean and I've never had an issue with bugs until now. They come and spray but only outside and it doesn't really help. The bathroom smells moldy so I'm sure there's mold behind the walls. The walls are super super thin so I often get to hear my neighbors using the bathroom, taking a shower, opening their cabinets/doors and I can smell the disgusting food they cook at all hours of the day/night. MY BIGGEST ISSUE IS......In December around the time they were doing inspections I had some money come up missing. Actually....A LOT OF MONEY!!! $1200 to be exact! It was just laying around my apartment because it's only me and my toddler son that live there and I didn't think it would be a problem. Well the money came up missing and the only people with keys to my apartments are me and the leasing office. I spoke with them and they immediately denied it was them without even bothering to investigate or look into what I was saying. There were no signs of forced entry and I know my 3 year old son didn't take it sooooo I guess it just vanished right? Well anyways the Hispanic lady who works in the office was really rude about it (I don't like to deal with her, ask for someone else if possible) and when I talked to the property manager she pretty much insinuated that I was lying I guess as well. Apparently she knows her staff well and they would never do anything like that. She also tried to tell me that my apartment was not inspected and of the units that were inspected she was with the owners when they did the inspections which I know for a fact is a lie but whatever. Long story short I'm out of $1200 and they could care less that there is a thief among them. If you like to be stolen from then I'd suggest you live here. If you like to keep your money and valuables, then please go somewhere else. I cant wait until my lease is up...actually, I may not wait. We shall see. O, and Lana and Tori are awesome! Love them to pieces they are always friendly and caring.
This is probably the best apartment complex I have lived in so far. The rent is considerably less expensive than other apartments I have lived and they are fairly well maintained considering the age of the buildings. I live in a one bedroom and it is spacious enough for me and my little girl. The area is well patrolled by Benbrook police and is in a quiet section of the neighborhood. I feel comfortable going on runs. (I also love the closeness to the running and bike trails!) A couple of other reviews noted that they never answer their phone; I have noticed that during peak show hours, the phone is not answered, but that is because they are showing apartments and not in the office. If you call before 10am or after 3pm, you can usually get in touch with someone and maintenance has been quick to fix any issues that come up. Lastly, in comparison to other utility bills I have received these are manageable. Including my electric bill, I spend about $120 a month (I am a conservative user, I don't use the AC or heat when external temperature falls between 50 and 85). The gas charge is for the water heater, which is central. It does take a while for the water to warm up, but you are also hard pressed to run out of hot water. The only issue I have come across so far is the pest control. You are charged $5/mo, but the company they have contracted does little more than put out bait traps. I would recommend getting some over the counter treatment.
They are horrible apts.. They are slow about gettin things done... And they love to give u the run around when something aren't done..
They never answer the phone. The maintenance people don't ever do their job right. We got charged for gas but there is no gas things in the house. The water takes 20 to 30 minutes to get hot.
