On the outside, the condo's look so beautiful. I was on my way to a different apartment complex on fair oaks, and saw this one on the way. I actually kept driving, but I couldn't stop thinking about it, so I turned around. It's located on a quaint little hill off of Madison and Manzanita in Carmichael, CA. My first impression: "Wow, it is so quiet!". This is a huge plus for me, being someone who has just suffered a sudden hearing loss and increase in ear sensitivity. I spoke with Amanda, who is just about the friendliest person you will ever meet. She treated me like a person instead of a prospective client, which I really appreciated. Business attitudes are great when you're in a work setting but when you're stepping into a prospective place to live, you want to feel at home and comfortable. I definitely felt that way. I asked lots of questions and went on a tour of the property. The amenities include a newly built or remodeled pool, gym, and shower with a TV- all gated & safe. It was beautifully done & looked very very clean. They are in the process of building a cafe/ lounge area near the leasing office and Tennis courts/Basketball courts. I would say it is about 85% done. Amanda told me it will have wifi, which is always nice. There are several properties who have more amenities, but as someone who is always very busy with internships, volunteering, school and work- I think the pool, gym and cafe is all I actually need. Plus, a quiet and friendly environment is priceless. I have yet to find a complex that has treated me so kindly, and whose staff and tenants are so welcoming. I may have met 4 to 5 people just upon touring and applying- all of whom welcomed me or were very friendly. The apartment itself is very beautiful and large. I requested a second floor bedroom due to a bad experience I have been having at La Provence Apartments with noisy upstairs neighbors. Although I would love to enjoy the gardening space provided at Meridian Terrace, I think upstairs is always safer if you are sensitive to noise. Mailboxes are located on your building. There is a washer and a dryer in unit (a laundry facility is also on the campus) The bathrooms are clean and newly renovated. The kitchen has an L shaped counter top, perfect for bar stools. The dining and living room are large and the fire place is wood- burning! The rate for garbage, water, and sewage is currently $55.86 I believe, flat rate. The price for a pet is $15/ month + a $500 deposit, not bad at all! The absolute only negative is that is does take some time to get to CSUS from this location. In comparing this apartment to The Palms, I found 7 negatives to the Palms and 1 negative to Meridian Terrace... that it takes some time to get to campus. For me, the 99 positives outweigh the 1 negative.
