When we first moved into The Timbers apartments we fell in love instantly with the community the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They truly made living in an apartment community feel like home. This was when Bell Property Management ran our community. Shortly after we renewed our lease to live at the Timbers another year. Vesta Property Management took over. I didn't give another property management company taking over much thought. I have throughly enjoyed living at The Timbers I'm sure they will be just as amazing. I was wrong. On one occasion Vesta Property Management lost my rent payment and tried to charge my family and I late fees. When I went to the office to ask about the letter I received on the door about my rent being late the girl explained she had misplaced my rent but had been meaning to contact me and that I shouldn't look so stressed. This happened a second time as well. I received another letter explaining that I owed two months of rent which I then again had to take time to go to the office to get taken care of. Last month they didn't even post rent online. My husband had to go to the office to pay rent. What is the point of having online rent payments if they won't post rent on time. My other issue with Vesta Property Management is their maintenance team. I very rarely call for maintenance to fix anything that goes wrong. I tend to try to fix normal every day things myself. I have a leak in my bathroom from under the shower that is now causing black mildew start to form. When I called maintenance they said that there is no leak and that if I used a little bleach the black stains will just go away. My question to maintenance is "why is there water all over my bathroom floor leaking out of under the bathtub is there is no leak?" This week I had to submit another maintenance request. The thermostat for my stove and oven is not working properly and I'm pretty sure there is an electrical issue with my kitchen light. My husband received an email stating that the problem had been fixed. That however was a lie the light in the kitchen is still shining an eery red color. I had also, asked in my maintenance request to call before going. I have a small dog that I would have like to have put up but instead they just stopped by with no notification. All of this to say when our lease ends next year my husband and I have already started looking for new places to live. With the way things are going we may not even make it to the end of our lease.
Looking over the reviews left for the Timbers it seems a while back it wasn't as good. But the Timbers have VERY nice and VERY helpful staff management. Their maintenance has been amazing and very helpful! The grounds are mostly clean (other than residents not picking up after themselves). With my being in an apartment bottom floor for the first time, the noise level up above me bothers me. But it only happens every now and then. So its not that bad. Other than that I really like where I am at. They have a pool, fitness center, laundry center, good community grounds, tennis court, playgrounds and grilling stations. I definitely recommend this complex due to the location good in between Durham and Raleigh and not downtown but only 15-20minutes from downtown Raleigh.
After graduating from college and having previously lived in Southeast Raleigh for my undergraduate experience I was seeking something different for my transition into adult life. First time apartment hunting is daunting, and after a long day in the heat, my father who accompanied me from out of town, suggested we stop by The Timber's as he had looked them up online. As soon as I drove up the hill, and toured the apartment complex I was sold. The leasing office was helpful, answered my fathers questions and were willing to show us how they stacked up to the area competition. I have had a great leasing experience with the Timbers. The staff are consistently professional, courteous, and knowledgeable about the community and surrounding area. Although my college years were lived in a dorm room, being from a military family I have inhabited my fair share of properties, and The Timbers is well maintained. In a year of living in my apartment I have only had to request maintenance twice for minor issues and my requests were responded to within 24 hours. The neighborhood contains a mix of different ethnic groups , and people from various socioeconomic backgrounds, but there is an easy cohesion. The neighborhood is mostly quiet at night with the exception of a few dog walkers!, and parking is easily accessible within 2-3 feet of your apartment no matter the time of day or night. In fact, when it was time to review my lease renewal options my Father & Mother both wanted me to stay, but due to extenuating circumstances, it was not feasible for me to do so at this present time. People often ask about the price of utilities. My average water bill was $14.00 - $20.00, my average light bill during summer months with moderate use of air-conditioning was $25.00 to $40.00, during the winter with moderate use of heating I paid no higher than $80.00. If you are new to the Raleigh area, or just want to experience North Raleigh, I suggest you give The Timbers a fair chance!
I used to live at the timbers and the apartments were not kept well by their office. Since then I have had people accidentally mail me things there but no one was ever in the office to answer my calls.
