Save your time and money and live somewhere else. Beautiful landscaping, awesome maintenance workers, but seriously the office workers suck. They lose your papers and documents and then say they never got them. That on top of a lot of other things I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Overall Grade: Very Unsatisfied. 1) Sink has no garbage disposal 2)The sink is very shallow and small 3) No dish washer 4)The counter space is very small; I don’t even have enough space to put an entire cutting board. 5)The kitchen is very small, no place for eating 6)Oven is small, really old, and has no temperature meter. I did not want to buy an additional thermometer, so I never baked anything there. 7)There is no fan in the kitchen. There is a flame that burns all the time in order for the stove to function. Even if you turn off the stove, the flame continues to burn. You have to pay for the gas that is consumed in order for the flame to burn. The worse thing was the stove is close to the window, but I can’t open kitchen window because the wind will put off the flame at anytime, and when this happens, it is dangerous, since the gas will leak out. If this happens, I have to call someone to ignite the flame again. 8)No fan in bathroom; steam is heavy during bathing, and I have to open the window to let the steam out. In winter, it is very bad since it is very cold if I open the window. 9)Sound isolation is really bad; I can even hear my neighbor’s coughing at midnight, waking me up. 10)The air is filthy due to dirty carpet. One time, I even heard that leasing office talked with another tenant since she reported her asthma was triggered and she suspected if the carpet was cleaned. 11)Kitchen cabinet is cheap and old; they use metal cabinet door, not wood at all. Paint is chipped off everywhere since they just use spray paint on top of cabinet. 12)Hampton Garden Apts require their renters to buy renter’s insurance, which I was not happy about. Other places usually give the tenant the choice to buy renter’s insurance, but not mandatory. 13)Bugs, I witnessed so many bugs in my unit. When I opened the window during the summer at night, many bugs of many kinds crawled into rooms. Hampton Garden Apts has a contracted pest control company, which I thought was good at the beginning, however, I quickly figured out that bugs were really a problem in Hampton Garden Apts that they have to hire pest control to subdue the bug disaster here and there. I finally realized when a place has to hire a professional pest control coming back every week, it only means the problem is serious. Tenants must pay the pest control company each month; I have never seen other places have such a pest control fee each month. 14)Water leakage in the basement, there is always a swamp in basement and this may be one of the contributing factors to the bugs. I don’t know where the source of the leakage is and what kind of waters it is –the water looked dirty. The water was seeping through in front of the dryer machine. Often times when I opened the dryer’s door, my clothes dropped into the water, hence, I have to rewash the clothes. 15) Leasing office is not responsible at all. Often, when a problem arises, they would find any excuse to delay and try to avoid doing more work. They don’t care about their tenants. For instance, they know there is a basement leakage problem, but do not have any intention to fix. Summary: The appliances are so cheap, sometimes even dangerous (stove), there are so many bugs of many kinds, and the leasing office don’t care about you. It’s not worth the money. If you can, avoid renting from them.
Outdated apartments. Maintenance is good, resident services is helpful. They have thousands of units but no pool? Or shared internet access - a business fiber line could share with the whole community.
I no longer live here because of the commute I had to make to work, but I really miss it. It was such a peaceful community and I loved that the park was only a short walk away (as was anything else on a nice day). Management and maintenance were always friendly and took care of my concerns immediately.
I have been living here for three and a half years and it has been great. Hampton Gardens is in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood. The staff is very attentive to my needs. Maintenance always responds to my concerns at any time of day. The rooms are very spacious and you can do so much with them. I really enjoy living here!
