I have lived here about a month, the place is not bad, I like the scenery, the neighbors are friendly. The staff is friendly. I have had no real trouble with staying here or maintence. I will say that Maintence does stay busy, but they replaced my fridge with a new one when requested, fixed the eyes on the stove and other concerns. The pools are clean, the area is fairly clean. A walk area for dogs with dog poop bags and trash. The apartment is also close to vets, medical centers, grocery, dental, starbuck and more all within walking distance. Millinium Mall is just a 15 minute drive, Universal is just down the road, so its really a good location to live in if you want easy access to things.
Maintenance Nightmare and high manager turn-over. It started soon after I moved in with having to email 12 maintenance items to the first (of 3!) property manager that were either broken, dirty, or not working correctly. Over the next 10 months I had another 11 maintenance item with the worst being mold under the floor causing me to vacate the apartment. It was caused by a water leak 4 months prior coming through the outside wall that was improperly repaired leading to another leak 2 months later causing mold damage underneath the flooring. They offered to let me out of my lease but no compensation for rent paid will the place was unlivable. Only a few days in a hotel which I still had to pay rent for on the apartment! Nor reimbursement in moving to a new place or storage of my stuff while they fixed the problem. I and the moving help had to wear a surgical mask while moving due to the fumes! Managements other option was to cram all my stuff into the bedroom, fix the living room then swap the items while fixing the bedroom which is utterly ridiculous, because they would not be responsible for any damage! Their care is all talk and that's it. With 3 managers in the 11 months I was there speaks to management problems. I would give this place a 0 out 10!
DO NOT RENT HERE! I've lived here for a year and I'm happy to say that I'm moving out. After the shooting last week I DO NOT feel safe here. Between the mold, speeding, and constant dents in my car this place has been a nightmare. Did I mention that many residents simply pile garbage up on their lanai in bags for weeks on end instead of walking it to the dumpsters? The scent of raw trash and sound of thumping bass is your daily routine. I really really wish I was able to post images of this as proof. I've requested almost daily that the management have the garbage removed from tenants lanais but nothing is ever done. If you value your health, vehicles and now after the recent shooting in which a 16 year old kid was shot in the face, your safety, rent elsewhere.
I have lived in this complex over 3 yrs and I have to say it's great. The staff its friendly and the location gives you access to pretty much everything. Yes, it's a bit older construction, but they are always working on maintaining it and keeping it up to date.
DO NOT RENT HERE. My friend and I are both young adults, who just graduated college, and like everyone else we thought that the Portofino Apartment Homes were perfect for people in our situation. We quickly felt welcomed by the head leasing agent, and were excited to be starting out on our own. However, we were quick to learn that this was not a dream apartment home. We started out the first half of the year with cockroaches taking over our apartment. Although we understand this is Florida, their is no excuse for me to find multiple cockroaches crawling out of every crack in our apartment. It was disgusting. We did get a furnished apartment, however the furniture they provided was broken, old, and musty. Another problem was the internet that was provided by their recommended company, Brighthouse Networks. You would think since they only allow hookups to go to Brighthouse the internet would be top notch. Wrong. We spent months wondering if we were going to pass our classes because our internet kept going out. When you're taking online quizzes this is not something you need to deal with. We finally switched to AT&T who had to run a cable from the middle of our kitchen to the router. Awesome. The last thing that prompted me to write this review is the ridiculous fee they are charging us "whether we like it or not" as the leasing agent so kindly informed me, for not renewing our lease. If you do not let this company know that you're not renewing 60 days out from the end of your lease, you will get charged 2 extra months rent, and still be expected to leave the apartment homes. Essentially you will pay for months that you will not be occupying the apartment. AGAIN DO NOT LIVE HERE. I would not recommend this apartment complex to my worst enemy.
