While some of the past reviews are poor, the community has since really improved and it is now very safe especially with the new fence and new luxury communities build around it in the last 12 months. The staff is also very friendly! Great deal in a central location!
I truly want to give this "place" 0.0 stars because it is not the kind of place I would recommend to a mangy dog. I wish I would have read the reviews before moving in. Reviews are a great indicator of how the place REALLY is. According to these reviews, IT IS NOT THE PLACE TO MOVE TO. Even if you are desparate...keep searching. Maintenance is slow as molasses, shootings galore, at least 5 in a few months. Less than six I would say. Roaches, water damage constantly. Yeah sure the apartments themselves are nice but you can get a nice apartment anywhere where it is safe and the maintenance takes care of business. I am sick of these people an their empty promises and bullshit. I AM WARNING YOU...DO NOT MOVE HERE!
I would not recommend anyone to EVER move here. I used to live here about 4 years ago and they were under different management and I absolutely loved it. I moved to a smaller cheaper place to try and save money to buy a house. So when my house hunt didn't go so well and I needed to move somewhere I decided to move back to Hampton center...WORST mistake EVER!!! Since the day I moved in I've had issues. My apartment has been infested with ROACHES yes ROACHES since day 1 (and I'm a neat freak). I told the leasing office and they told me they would never rent an apartment with roaches and it had to be something else. They proceeded to tell me they sprayed my apartment 4 different times when they never did because they didn't have a key to get into my apartment. My car got towed because I was never informed I needed a decal for my car, my dishwasher was broken for 5 months before they came to a conclusion that I needed an entire new one which caused major water damage and mold in 3 of my kitchen cabinets. There has been a hole in the ceiling of my master bedroom for 6 months and is still there cause of water damage in the ceiling so when it rains it rains in my room as well. Nothing has been done despite numerous calls to the leasing office and the corporate office. Nobody at the corporate office ever even called me back after I left 2-3 messages a day for 3 weeks straight. Maintenance people are very nice but extremely slow, leasing office is very unhelpful, and I can't wait to move into my new house in a couple of weeks and never see this place again.
Gun violence, roaches, horrible staff. Over priced, slow service, bad plumbing. I could go on but I think you get the point. It seems like this place can't go a month without some sort of police involvement due to gang activity. That alone should dissuade you from moving in here. I'm still waiting on my toilet to be fixed... AGAIN. The last time I put in a maintenance request for the same issue. I had to wait until the folks below me complained of flooding in their apartment. Save your money, move somewhere else.
10/2012 - Current resident at hampton center. Been here since february and have been unhappy about maintenance and management since march. Continuosly having problems with water leaking under the sinks and from the faucets. Maintenence has been by and 'fixes' it everytime. My appliances are ancient. The refigerator is rusty and mold around the seals. Constant mold problems in windows. And they only answer the office phones half the time. The rent does not cover anything, even tho when i signed the leased it was dicussed that water is apart of rent. I was fooled, the office gets the water bill and you pay the office, not the water company, and the office charges $35-$45 a month for a one bedroom apartment. now im one person living there, no washer and i dont use the broken dishwasher, i feel they are raping my wallet and dont even care. I know this place has a high turn over of people moving out, i've met many of my neighbors who moved out after just one year. 25 bucks a month for a pet.. thats 500 a yr and the complex doesnt even treat the grounds for fleas. My dog has never had a flea problem until i lived here and i have complained to the office numerous times but they say its not their problem. I spend plenty of money on monthly flea treatments already. I had a situation where my roommate moved out and for one month i had to split my rent into two payments.. office was uncooperative. When my lease is up i will surely be moving. AND.. i just got off the phone with them to inquire about the water bill since it fluctuates so much and they hung up on me.. her name is channel..
