I was really disappointed when I moved in a month ago. I was first impressed by the park like grounds with picnic tables and lots of grassy areas, as well as the pool, gym and tennis courts. I was shown a 1 bedroom unit with hard wood floors, washer and dryer in the unit for just 25$ more than the monthly rent I was quoted, and the option to paint 1 accent wall was the icing on top. The only request I had was to have the same apartment I was shown but on the 2nd or 3rd floor. Madeline assured me that that would not be a problem and explained that a unit would be available in November and that it had everything I wanted except the hardwood floors. Ok I said I could live with carpet. So, I paid the application fee and submitted my application along with the required documents in October. My application was accepted and my excitement began. It was all about the washer and dryer, I loved the idea of not have to go any where to do my laundry, and the price was perfect! I paid the admin fee along with the deposit and received a move in date for mid October, when the unit we discussed would be available. I went by the property several times in hopes that I would be able to view the unit but it wasn't available for viewing and I was told that that unit would not be available for move in as promised instead there was another on that was coming available by November and it had everything I was looking for except the hardwood floors. Ok, no worries as long as I was getting what I wanted (washer & dryer). Move in day comes, but before I could even get down there to pay the rent and sign the lease, I get a call from Madeleine saying she had made a mistake and the unit I was moving into did not have a washer and dryer nor did it have the hook ups. I was so disappointed... She said that one with washer and dryer would not be available until mid December. Well that wasn't going to work I needed to move right away. I then received a call from the office manager Josh who apologized for the misunderstanding and that my unit was right next to the laundry room. He stated that basically there was nothing to be done but accept the unit they had for me. So I go to the office to see the unit sign the lease and get the keys. While i'm going over the lease with Madeline i'm informed that the utilities are shared with the other residents and my one bedroom apartment runs about an additional $125 a month??? now I don't have have hardwood floors, I don't have a washer and dryer in my unit and I'm paying $100 more a month than I had planned. I've been here a month and it's quite the gym is nice and all in all my apartment is ok....
Don't apply here unless you have a 2017 car.. The new management is exaggerating, putting stickers almost on any car that has a small scratach. This is not highland park to be that picky. it was much better with Josh the Last manager he was very nice..

its diffidently above average apartments for the neighborhood very well kept best one on the Melody LN block actually, but as far as crime goes its a typical city crime as u should expect when living in a city .
