Un supervised kids everywhere, destroying the landscaping and the property, horrible maintenance, ( they had a maintenance man fix my apartment drunk, and they have had to fix the same problem in my apartment 4 times and it still wasn't fixed, ghetto problems, ghetto people, don't expect to have anything fixed. Problem tenants. Problem office people. Don't move maintenance left keys in my door and left my apartment unattended.
Has been great. Money feels well spent. Good service, staff has always been responsive, helpful & respectful...Great peace in having open dialogue w the office.. they work w you and do all they can to help. Awesome place if you need somewhere solid to stay whether for a year or a few. For Apts in Denver for this price this is no contest the best place found out of 5 others. Parking lots and walkways are well lit, Security does a good job. Landscaping is tranquil and kept well, the pool now has a heater which is awesome. Laundry machines are newer and work really well... love that. Have not personally had any bug problems. Maintenance issues are addressed in a timely manner. Was very relieved to find peace and quiet in my building. Great customer service counts for a TON when you have experienced the opposite. There are staff/landlords that do not care -at all- if even your most basic human rights are not being met.. (deposit theft, abuse/harassment, neglect of maintenance, damaged stolen prop/entering w/o permission etc.) Only a few of many problems renters can face. After signing a lease it's up to the landlords discretion to fulfill or neglect their duties, many choose neglect. Assuring Quality of Life as a renter is a right and should NEVER be a conditional bargaining tool that can be taken away. Tryin to find this quality blind can result in a long stressful (and expensive!) trial and error process. So- I have a -huge- Thank You* to the staff here for doing an awesome job fulfilling and surpassing their duties, and helping end 6 years of moving, stress, and sub par living conditions. The relief of finding uncomplicated stability and so the chance to build a good life here has been immeasurable. . Conclusion: Learning to avoid substandard/shady complexes, we stumbled upon Monaco... it was aesthetically appealing, well-kept, secure, sturdy, with good, working appliances, yet was still reasonably priced... (espesh' compared to many overpriced "luxury" apts nearby). Staff here actually care about customer service, and providing quality of life, yet can also respect your privacy. They let you live your life without being over involved. (fairly sure paying bills on time and being considerate to others prob hasn't hurt my chances on that tho :) Can't even say how relieved we are to have found this place... long over due situation happily accepted
Elevator always broken, rent is outrageous for the size and the staff besides the black younger guy are all assholes. dont want to help with anything or answer any questions that might cause them to actually get up off their phones and get off facebook for more than 5 minutes at a time.
After probably a decade or so of where I have been, I'm ready for a change and I found Monaco Lakes to be on my short list - and it got there because of the manager. I can say that Susan H. is an amazing manager. Susan takes the time to not only get to know her tenants but to listen to their concerns. How do I know this? She was my manager at another property for about 9 years. When you live in multi-family apartment dwellings, things are never perfect -- but I know that whether or not Monaco Lakes has an opening that works for me when I am ready to move -- I feel safe in recommending the property, under Susan H's management, to friends. You get what you give ... and I know Susan is working very hard to make it a place people are proud to call "Home" and where you're not just a line item on a budget sheet, but a valued resident.
I cannot warn you strongly enough not to live here! My apartment was infested by bed bugs and cockroaches which came in from adjacent apartments. If you have never dealt with a bed bug infestation, you are missing out on a truly miserable experience. Management had to fumigate my apartment multiple times, and I had to vacuum every square inch of my place and all upholstery for several hours every day for a month. Initially it was only my apartment they fumigated, and the bugs just came right back in from my neighbors. Eventually, management figured out they needed to fumigate a huge section of the building to correct the problem. At one point I had a water leak in the ceiling of my bathroom because my upstairs neighbor had let his bathroom flood from the toilet and didn't tell anyone or do anything, just let the water stand. This is the type of clientele this place attracts. Worst of all, at the end of my lease management handed me a huge bill for damage to my apartment that just didn't happen. Normal wear and tear is apparently something they want tenants to pay for. I didn't pay the whole bill, just let them take my entire security deposit, and instead of pursuing it immediately they waited two and a half years to refer it to a collections agency. This place is about using cheap rent to attract low quality tenants, creating a disgusting community, and then screwing the tenants on the way out. Don't live here.
