I do not live here and never have tried to. BUT I have had two different friends try to live here. They both signed a lease and then we told 3 days before moving in that their apartment was not available after all and would have to change apartment numbers. This happened TWICE to both of my friends. This is after they had already set up their utilities and set up deliveries for furniture. Every time you call and change a set up address with the utility departments, they charge you a higher deposit fee. My friends were caused so much trouble by the Baker Crossing Apartments. I would never recommend someone trying to live here.
I have not had a bad experience living her. List of problems I've had in the past month: AC went out (fixed in two days) Live wire hanging from wall (fixed immediately) Various other issues all taken care of promptly. Neighbors: the walls are so thin I can hear conversations. The cats upstairs sound like a stampede, the people worse. So far my biggest complaint is people not controlling thier animals barking at all hours of the night. Enviornment: have not had a problem with drugs in front of my apartment or in the hallways/stairways. I wouldn't put up with it. Cops would be called or I would ask them to leave immediately. Overall this isn't a bad place to live. I wouldn't recommend this place to families as it is a loud area not suitable to children. This place is for 20-Somethings who want a nice place that isn't expensive but are willing to trade quiet and quality neighbors.
i have lived in these apartments since May 2013.THE APARTMENT COMPLEX I STAY IN IS GHETTO. I HAVE THE RUDEST UPSTAIRS NEIGHBORS EVER!!!!i understand that the floors and walls are paper thin but their should be a level of respect, especially if you have had numerous talks with them as well as letting the front office know.(in which they said they would send them a letter) I CANT EVEN SLEEP IN MY OWN BEDROOM BCAUSE OF THE NOISE!!!!NOTHING HAS CHANGED!!! THEN ON TOP OF THAT THEY ALLOW YOU TOO HAVE PETS AND ITS NOT SAFE TO WALK IN THE GRASS AROUND THESE PARTS BECAUSE YOU JUST MIGHT STEP IN SOMETHING MUSHY AND TO THINK THEY HAVE A DOG PARK.THEY MAY BE UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT PUTTING UP ALL THE NEW SIGNS BUT WHAT THEY REALLY SHOULD DO IS MAKE THESE PEOPLE CLEAN OFF THEIR FILTHY PATIOS.SCREENS MISSING TRASH EVERYWHERE. THE APARTMENTS ARE REALLY NICE BUT THE SURROUNDING AREAS AND SOME OF THE PEOPLE THAT LIVE HERE MAKE THIS PLACE DIRTY!!!!!!!DEBATING ABOUT RENEWING MY LEASE AND NOT TO MENTION THE HALLWAYS STINK!!!! I USE MY OWN CLEANING SUPPLIES TO KEEP THE HALLWAY CLEAN!!!!!!!!TO EACH ITS OWN BUT THIS IS BY FAR MY WORSE EXPERIENCE LIVING IN AN APARTMENT
Was charged unnecessarily for some amounts of money that I personally thought was duping. I thought Military could move out without termination of contract fee even on TAD orders. That was what I was told by a customer representative. Baker crossing went ahead and is even charging me rental concession reimbursement. To my military brothers and sisters, be careful what you sign for, because when the time is up for you to relocate on TAD orders, they will charge you some money you have no idea of.
Not a great place to live(especially if you have a family). The apartments themselves are very nice and clean for their price. But you don't choose a place to live just by how it looks... So here is a list of reasons you probably won't want to live here. 1. Apartment near mine got broke into. The people were only occupying the place for maybe 2 or 3 months so they were probably questionable people. 2. Can't forget the body found in lake Edwards. (I don't know much about that but thought it's worth mentioning) 3. The owners go crazy with trying to tow your car. You have to make sure you are doing everything right. It's not completely clear where guest can park(found out later: along the street) .... My husband had two buddy's that needed a place to stay for the night and they came over after the office was closed. Woke up the next morning to find both of their cars towed. I also see a lot of cars with a green sticker for warning that they are going to tow the car for whatever reason. 4. Questionable neighbors are another reason you might not want to live here. There was 1 specifically in my apartment area that annoyed everyone. They played music at 1am on a weekday. Always had people over that didn't care how obnoxious they were being. And also its possible they may have been selling drugs.(of course I don't know for sure, just an observation) 5. More on #4 in a sense. Weed is a problem here. I spoke with a neighbor here and they said the same thing, that they have a problem with their apartment smelling like weed because it seeps up through the floors like it does in mine. It's strong and overpowering. You will have a hard time keeping your apartments smelling fresh. 6. I suppose maintenance requests are a hit and miss. If it's something small they will come out quick, but if it's a more involved task they will take forever and may not even do a good job. Examples: had a request put in for aircondtioner, took them a week to come out and the guy didn't even fix it completely. One of the ducts came off in that closet it so the air was just going in there. They said they fixed it but I went to the vent in the 2nd bedroom and the vent duct thing was off there. Before I found that out I told the apartment people that I know it's not fixed and she said it's just because it's so hot out. So this whole back and forth process actually took about 2-3weeks. My electric bill came out to over $300 because of this. Also had a toilet that leaked and took them a week to fix it and multiple reminder calls until I told my husband that I was fed up with calling and he griped them out. They came out 10mins after that. (no joke). Also had some orange mold on the ceiling from all air conditioning problems and that also took a good week or two before it was fixed. And all he did was put so thick paint like stuff over it. 7. And lastly, but very importantly, a woman in the office was rude to me about the incident with me calling in about the loud neighbors and said they weren't going to do anything about it. I went on to say something along the lines of... Alright then, I'm not going to renew my lease when it's up(wouldn't anyways. Haha) and I'm going to write a honest review of your apartments on Google and any other place I can because people do read those. She went on to say that I was horrible for doing so. Everything I have mentioned is 100% true. Keep in mind that some people do have different experiences(better or worse) of course and this is just my own. :-) *so excited to leave in 2mnths, counting down the days. Muhaha* Edit: more on the drug(weed) problem.. . Just last night I tried to take my dog out to pee before bedtime and I was greeted by 3 men smoking pot on my staircase(they don't even live over here.) also there is a specific car with a different group of guys that come park in the parking lot just to smoke. It's creepy. (office was informed about this 6+months ago... Still not solved.... Some security they have, eh?)
