I really wanted to like this place because the area is clean and quiet. However, the customer service is TERRIBLE! This place is too expensive for what they offer. We got out of here as quickly as possible. The worst experience I've ever had. Also, good luck trying to get your deposit back. Will never happen because they will fight to charge anything and everything to keep all of it.
I am going to tell you about my wife and I’s experience living at Raintree Apartments (from September 2010 to October 2012). When my wife and I first moved to Raintree in September of 2010, we thought the apartment complex was great. However, within a few days, it became a nightmare for us. We could not find any parking on the property. At times, we had to park on the street and walk about a two blocks. I had to wait almost a month to get a parking space and on top of that, they added $10 a month to my rent, including $40.00 a month for pet rent. I do not know why they do not issue parking spaces to relieve the parking problem - people will not pay $10 month extra for a space. When my first months’ water bill came and it was cheap, I thought, “this is cool.” Nevertheless, when my water bill came the following month, it was between $60-$80 a month for a sewage, trash, and OCSD sewer fee. What the heck? I am not living in a condominium; I am living in an apartment. My apartment became infested with bugs and my food supply was covered in cigarette beetles. I had to throw away $150 worth of food. I called the management about it. They told me I had to send photos of those nasty bugs to prove I was not playing around. They took care of the problem all right, but it took about week to kill them off. Throughout the time I lived at Raintree, my neighbors’ cars were broken into - including my brother’s car as he stayed to visit overnight. Security was useless. They were never around, except at night to close the pools. I never saw them patrolling late at night, even when I worked late after hours. The housekeepers never talked to anyone, even when I waived or said hello to them. They ignored me and other tenants living there. Other tenants told me that they are like that, that they never talk to anyone. I guess that is their personality, but it is not very good customer service. After living there over a year, I got a notice from the management saying they needed to verify that my cat had had her rabies shots. They said they wanted proof. It was getting out of hand living there. What were they going to do next – ask for a record of every time I took a dump? Speaking of dumps, there was always leftover dog feces on the ground from dog owners who carelessly left their pet’s waste around for landscaping to clean up. In addition, my wife and I constantly had to endure long periods hearing neighbors’ dogs barking. Sometimes it was hard to sleep because they were so loud. Our apartment, in itself, was ok and we had many good memories there. However, we cannot leave a good review for the apartment complex and management as a whole, when we left with such a bad taste in our mouths. If you rent there kiss your deposit goodbye. Forget about hiring a cleaning crew, when you leave; they will charge you a $100 cleaning fee and so on. The management are not your friends. They will clean you out… Renters Beware!!!
The truth is no apartment is equivalent to owning a home; however, this property has the most unconcerned, unfriendly, unresponsive and unprofessional management I have ever seen. There is too much noise throughout the day (even weekends) because of the continuous projects and landscaping. The rules are not followed nor enforced and security is never around. The neighbors are friendly and rent is fair, alternatively.
Not sure what to say about this place.
Everyone was very nice during the period in which I was trying to decide where I wanted to live in Brea. I loved the ammenitites and the employees were very nice so I chose Raintree.
Now after living here a month, I can't get a parking spot if I work late and get home anytime after 6 (I literally have to park across the street at the commercial buildings), and when I asked how long I would have until I could get my own parking spot I was told "well... none of us really know how to read the waiting list."
Also, I work from home every now and then. My cell phone was not working on specific day, and I asked to make one quick local phone call from the leasing office. They would not let me make a local call from one of their phones?! Really? I pay how much in rent and you won't let me make one call pertaining to my job. My job being the way I pay the rent.
I was enjoying my time here, until I actually had a question for them. Not sure I could say anything great about this place anymore. I hope things get better, and if they do this place won't be so bad, but right now - I have not enjoyed my time here. I watched a tennant get arrested in front of my apartment last week for something, so not sure the neighbors are great either. Just do your research before you jump in at Raintree.
